There is always hope and you are not alone - messages I took from reading the book - Oh and you have to be crazy to be a Boro fan.
Recommended listening - an amazing life story.

My book is used by Harley Street psychiatrists to acquaint people with the true nature of the bipolar condition. I made it available free of charge during lockdown when everyone started talking about their mental health. Stigma is caused by not discussing taboo subjects like mental illness (and indeed amputation and disability in my case) openly. The Golden Straitjacket is a warts and all autobiography. You’d be mad not to read it.

That`s nothing to do with your title.
Whether "Harley Street" psychiatrists [some kind of inferred hierachy there?] read it or not.
As a qualified experienced mental health practitioner, I nor my patients need a lecture on stigma.
A little sensitivety might be advisable.

As a qualified certified patient, who has been on the sharp end of stigma for 34 years neither do I. Why don't you read it and then comment...it's free and people who have read it find it inspirational.

I`m not commenting on the content - but on the title.
Its inappropriate - whether you or I have been a patient or not.

“The Golden Straitjacket” title also refers to my success in business and has an economic meaning as well. The book is not solely about mental illness, it’s also about economic success that can come from the creative mind and how I overcame serious adversity. There was also no hierarchical meaning in my reference to Harley Street. It’s just a fact. I hope you read/listen to it. Up The Boro!

probably all the [new] clap trap that we read and watch probably makes us that much more bi-polar, thank heavens for old movies and comedy lol :)

Well, as a bipolar football fan, I read the first couple of chapters last night and really enjoyed it. Well written, interesting and pulls you in. UTB
