Arctic Monkeys Playing the Riverside Next Summer

I remember seeing Last of The Shadow Puppets at Middlesbrough Town Hall in 2016, and then seeing Alex Turner and Miles Kane in the Empire on the same night with cans of red stripe in their hands haha.
Saw the Arctic Monkeys at the Empire back in the day and had a **** next to Alex Turner on a wall outside the place they were using for an after party.

Can't remember what the venue was called. Just down from the Isaac Wilson that's had a few names but never stayed open for long.

I like all their albums to be honest, they all have their own flavour and mood. The first is one of the weaker complete albums, some great lead tracks, but some weaker songs as they were learning on the job.

It's cool to knock TBHAC but lyrics are great with that dry wit, the basslines are superb on almost every track, some great keys and guitar, and thematically it hangs together well. OK, it's a totally different vibe to WPSIATWIN but it'd be boring to just create a second rate knock off of a previous album.
The first album left out some miles better songs that helped make them massive before it even came about. In retrospect the second album was miles better but the underground buzz and sourcing songs from bootleg outlets like Cuddles In The Kitchen and Ishotthesheriff was what made them special - also used for bands that were part of the scene but never as big like Milburn and various indie landfill.

Loved their early stuff but got a bit bored after that, maybe I should try and give the newer stuff another try.

Is Alex still impersonating Elvis on stage or was that a one off at Glastonbury?

Well done to MFC for getting this event.

It brings in cash and raises the profile of the venue and club and sometimes even the area.

Modern hybrid pitches seem to cope with the wear and tear from the audiences.

Agreed I made a compilation early in their career with a few things that never got released, alternative version plus tracks that never made the album. My mate always said it should have been their first album as it was loads better. Must dig it out for a play.
Also really liked Millburn. Still play the compilation I made by then. In fact I have recently being thinking of updating it.

Bigger Boys and Stolen Sweethearts is one of my favourites, brilliant for a B-side.

That's one that I had in mind off the top of my head but also the original version of When The Sun Goes Down which used to be either Scummy or Scummy Man. My favourite song from the era is Seven which you'd have to listen to on YouTube as it's lost to time. Think my favourite Milburn song never made it to an album as well - Dancing On The Kitchen Floor.

Tranquility had some decent songs on and listening to one at a time they are decent but as a full album it feels like one big long track and it gets boring. There's nothing that stands out for me. All very samey.

There 1st album is in my top 3 albums. It came out when I was at uni so was a big part of that era.

How much out of interest? If you don't mind me asking.

Interested in Hillsborough when they go on sale tomorrow but price is a factor (I'd much rather see them somewhere smaller in Europe).

80 today

They were 80 each. But initially popped up as only VIP remaining

I got mine about 9:11, only joined the queue at about 8:55, can't argue with that considering how much demand there will be for this and the rest of their tour.

Thank goodness for pre-sale because I imagine tomorrow's queue will be a nightmare!
