Archer breakthrough

Going to be two good sessions. Fancy England by 30 runs. West Indies are still dangerous so still could go the other way.

Could do with another now. Relieving on Archer here. Now much happening for the other bowlers.

Looking like a done game. Need to put more runs on the board consistently. Denly out Root in for the next test. Burns needs to make starts into bigger totals. Butler must be on borrowed time

Like the look of the top six with Root back in. Think Foakes deserves a run in the team behind the stumps before Bairstow. Leech not been great after his illness but disappointed with Bess bowling there. Anderson will probably get the chance to reach 600 wickets but looked toothless in the 2nd innings.

Overall well played the West Indies

Bairstow was asked to bat at 3 because he was doing so well at 6/7 as wicketkeeper batsmen, then they wanted to get Buttler in so took gloves off Bairstow cos you can’t bat at 3 and keep. Then dropped him cos he wasn’t getting runs at 3.
So for me he should be back in at 7 and wicketkeeper if he fails then it is time to go with Foakes

"You can't bat at 3 and be the keeper" wasn't my opinion, its just what was stated in media at time when Bairstow was moved to bat at 3.
To me batting at 3 shouldn't be a problem, Alec Stewart did it for years and was captain as well.
Maybe we dont need him to bat at 3 at the moment as Crawley looks decent.
My top 7 for this whole season would be this, if any fail then after that we look elsewhere for tour to India.
Burns
Sibley
Crawley
Root
Pope
Stokes
Bairstow

What is the big deal with Buttler. Always flatters to deceive with the bat, Bairstow was our best test batsman with Root only a few years ago, a couple of barren series and he’s binned off for this chancer.

stokes is the best batter in the team at the moment so must go in higher than 6, if root didn’t have such a thing against batting at 3 I’d have stokes in at 4
