Arbroath are top of the Scottish Championship at the halfway stage.
Whatever happens from now that's some achievement from the part-timers 👍

Although their stadium probably prohibits them playing in the Scottish Prem anyway.

There's no ground requirements needed now since the rules changed in 2013. Fantastic story, I work with an Arbroath fan and hes ecstatic. Real character as a manager too

d*ck Campbell is the Scottish equivalent of Neil Warnock ,I don't think you could under estimate what an achievement it would be if Arbroath did the unthinkable and made it to the Premier league.
It would be the equivalent of blyth spartans making it to the Premier league in England.

They are also famous for the biggest ever score in a British football match when they beat Bon Accord in the Scottish Cup 36 nil

Yes.
On the same day Dundee Harps won 35-0 and sent a telegram to local rivals Arbroath to brag. Oops.
In actual fact the ref recorded 38 goals for Harp, but their manager only logged 35. They agreed to go with 35. Double oops
I will have to look them up , do they still play?

You tend not to be drawn against cricketers in the cup these days. Still, it's a record that will not be beaten.

One of my mates played for Arbroath when they were in the old first division.

A smokie followed by a deep fried mars bar! Dinner and afters together, they know how to eat do our Caledonian brothers.

Love to see this. Hate to think it but could it result in them doing a Gretna should they actually go up.
I think the difference being that Gretna spent (relatively) heavily to get to the SPL and relied on the money from one person.
It was unsustainable and when he died there was no contingency.
Arbroath are spending within their means (at the moment anyway).
I think they have a couple of loan players going back to parent clubs next month which will weaken them.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention - what a great story.

You have to see how close the ground is to the North Sea to believe it.
Less than a cricket strip away.
I like Arbroath as a place - smashing little harbour and lighthouse, nice folk too.
Arbroath is almost five times bigger population than Dingwall, where Ross County are from, who have played many seasons in the SPL.
