Apparently the clubs are not allowed to leave the ESL as they have signed binding contracts

Think this is just Perez trying to run the gauntlet on his mad project— besides if there was a binding contract the lawyers would have probably have no.

It’s been widely reported that there would be heavy penalties for withdrawing. I suspect the remaining clubs will attempt to take the rest to court over it eventually as they desperately need the money.

It’s going to get messy that’s for sure as the fact it’s a 23 yr deal as well shows that they won’t let it go easily

I think they will have anohter go with something similiar again. If the idiots signed contracts, then they might have to pay to get out.

We can only hope.
I would feel sorry for their fans though tbf.

Is it just me or is La Liga in serious deep sh1t? If Messi and Suarez leave this summer, as expected, they’re basically left with Benzema as the star of the league. Griezmann has been poor at Barca. Just feels like it’s headed for the doldrums. Which does explain the Martin Braithwaite situation a little bit.

It was reported the other day that they’ll all have to pay £130m because of breach of contract. Not sure who they have to pay that to mind, Interesting that Barcelona and Real have yet to officially withdraw as they stood to make even more money than the other teams involved.

Who exactly are they paying this money too? The remaining members? Have Barca, Real and Juve just scammed the other 9 to the tune of £1.17billion?

No idea, but that’s what was reported. I guess they’d be paying whoever has the rights to the league or maybe sponsors.

Theres not much transparency at the minute, but it would be nice if all those £130m’s found their way to charities.

We both know it won't if it happens, and I doubt it will, this money will end up in the hands of Barca, Real, and Juventus to pay their debts.
