Apparently Levy is taking over the lead role in negotiations for Spence

With a view to driving down the asking price. Allegedly he is looking at a figure nearer £10 million as opposed to us looking at £15 million plus add ons.

Can see this transfer dragging on and on…..

Really wish another club - who looked to be very interested- firm up with an offer for him. So we could tell Levy this is the price - pay up!!!

That £10 m figure sounds pure speculation. Some “papers” (Heil) this morning quoting £15m plus add Ons. Hope we can stick with £20m - pressure will be how much we will need it for the striker strengthening.

Arguably the worst club to be dealing with😒.

You'd think as a so called 'big 6' and champions league money it would be a breeze. Yet Levy is a nightmare. Famous for wanting long winded payment 'plans' and low ball offers.

This is often with fellow big clubs. So no doubt taking the p*ss with initial offer and testing the water.

They clearly have money. The also seem pretty desperate for him to sign as he was linked with them since we played them in the cup. Definitely a longterm target.

I'm surprised Forest haven't taken note of the situation. I know Spence's preference is Spurs. Yet he can only go to a club that meets are asking price. Hopefully doesn't drag on until transfer deadline day (whenever that is?).

Hope it's not holding up some of our current targets. 10mil is taking the p*ss. I'd say 15 with add ons is about right.

Read somewhere that Spuds are bowing to Conte's demands, for 2 reasons....

After years of trying to 'compete', they now have Champs League money coming in, and they realise that Conte is probably the best manager they could get. They are not going to throw away the best 'situation' they could have.

On top of that, their home attendances (gate money) have increased by 50% due to ground size, and increase in ticket size.

It's the best opportunity they've had for years to 'build success'.

I think he wants to go to London I think Forest will be his third choice.

The figures in the press are I am sure just speculation, stand by for “undisclosed fee” as and when it happens.

Spurs is a cracking move. A side on the 'up' with a world class stadium and packed with international players.

They do seem to be going for it this summer. I agree it's probably to keep Conte happy as he has a habit of walking if not backed.

Just get one or two add ons in the deal. A cracking season and maybe even an international call up and he's worth 3 times what we sell him for.

I hope we take their eyes out but I can understand why Levy might be cautious about how much he is prepared to pay for Spence.

It seems to be a bit of a stitch up as well, how come Forest have suddenly lost interest in the greatest player ever to wear their shirt?

While it dragging on (and it's early days remember so wouldn't worry just yet) isn't ideal as it might have a knock on effect with our own incoming business, a lower fee would also have an impact on that.

So if Levy thinks he can use that as leverage he might be in for a surprise. I don't think Gibson's a pushover either.

Although levy is held up to be some hard nosed negotiator I'm not sure it ever achieves that much other than to **** people off. As soon as another club registers their interest (and I'm sure they will) any leverage he thinks he has is gone anyway.

He's just some jumped up little wannabe football club owner.

An actual owner of a football club like Gibbo won't take any nonsense from a nobody like Levy.

it’s a strange one and I know we bang on cos it’s Levy but maybe he thinks as an unproven PL player £10m is fair offer and won’t go above it after all they wrapped up the £25m deal for the Brighton lad Bissouma (sp) pretty sharpish.

We need another club to come in for him, otherwise like it or not Spurs can hold us to ransom (to a degree).

It’s almost to the point where I’m hoping he gets snatched by another club.

I have no doubt that he'll go in this transfer window and therefore I think we can safely spend the money we are going to get from the sale, so to that extent we hold more cards than Levy might think. Gibbo is no pushover and we won't be letting young Djed go on the cheap, we'll get what he's worth or he'll stay. Might mean Spense has to accept not going to Spurs if he wants to be away that badly or perhaps take less wages as part of the deal.

If we had 10 mil spare i'd like us to pay spurs that to take him off us :) I want spence far away from the club as quickly as possbile, can't stand him.

I find it strange that Forest aernt putting in an offer above £10m as a tempt to see if he's intetested in staying at the City ground, kissing tge badge & all that, or was it all hot air from Spence & Forest

I think right now my takeaway from that is thank fkk you're not involved in running the club. I doubt that Spense is doing anything other than sat at home waiting for a call from his agent. The longer it goes on the less time he will have with his new team mates which will affect his integration into the team and his initial fitness. Take your time Dan Levy, I suspect that the person most agitated about this is our old chum Conte who will want him getting a full pre season with Spurs.

I know if I was Conte and I was going to risk losing a player that will improve my team, or getting him in last minute and not having enough prep for he season, then I would be very annoyed if it was because Levy had been dicking around to save what is a relatively small amount for a club with Spurs' finances.

My guess is that it is mostly agreed but he's still on holiday so there's no rush.

Of course he's taking the lead, he's the Chairman of the football club about to spend over £10 million quid....

Tell us something we don't know !!!
Thanks 👍
