Apathy or Anger

Which camp are you in, at least anger shows you are still emotionally invested, whereas apathy is the state beyond anger, where people are just going through the motions. Do you think the atmosphere at games will turn toxic, with in fighting in the stands or are we way beyond that point, and people will just stop going and find another interest on a Saturday, which is a much more dangerous situation?

Apathy. There was some vitriol from some when the second went in. If they had got the third I think it would have been a mass exodus. We’ve all seen the games so far this season. We just aren’t very good. And not very good teams will lose a lot

Angry. I come away, and still am angry. Every game takes the same shape, average opposition having the midfield to themselves, scoring an early goal and us frantically chasing the game. When we get chances we haven’t got the quality to turn some of them into goals.

Apathy. I’ve felt no anger at all, which is unusual given how invested Ive been since wilder was appointed.

Apathy I'm way past getting angry with this football club. When you see Gibson appointment someone like Agnew in the Premier league, Woodgate in the Championship and then you see us linked with Cattermole as manager all you can do is laugh it off.

I expect bad decisions and bad results most of the time now its the norm.

We probably all feel either or both of these emotions at the moment .
But For the good of the club we need to temper both of them as much as we can on match days and encourage the team , as I do think they can get better results than they are currently and put a smile back on our faces .

During the game I was sat in my seat, 2-0 down, and just couldn’t be arsed to feel any anger. I was looking at others around me who were shouting in pure rage and thinking to myself, what’s the point in that? what’s that going to do? I guess you could call that apathy.

Apathy’s seen as being cooler. At what point are folks too apathetic to come on here and whinge?

Apathy, definitely. An age thing?

First goal I was laughing at how bad the defending was.

2-0 down in 16 mins was met with a "tsssk, typical Boro" reaction.

Love the club, not going to stop it being a big part of my life.....but currently there is just an overwhelming acceptance we are sh*t and there are big problems within the club......of which I have absolutely no control over. So I'm just getting on with it.

Really thought we would be playoffs minimum this season under Wilder, so my apathy is odd.

🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

It could be a sign of age, as I've got older I'm less angry about football and most of us have seen years of bad football and bad teams.

The young kids in the crowd are maybe less beaten down with years of failure 😂

We are rubbish at recruitment whether players or managers...and attracting investors for that matter. All a bit amateurish it seems

I think at the moment people are just waiting for the new manager change to happen. I also think that it is affecting the atmosphere which I felt was flat at the start yesterday.
I did hear a few people muttering about not renewing if this carries on though.

I used to get really angry after a match like yesterday but like Scrug, it was almost forgotten about by the time I got home.

The angriest I got yesterday was at the bar staff in the concourse. Why they don’t pre-pour pints I’ll never know. About four lads stood there looking gormless and one poor lass legging it about serving people.

You don't have to be either. Concerned is a middle ground?

I'd say to the RaRa's now wetting their plastic seats.... this isn't really shyte.

Some of us are old enough to remember when we were a lot worse than this, so bad fighting amongst ourselves was a regular occurance.

It'll get better. Ride it out and get yourself a man nappy.

Angry while watching the game, but afterwards I tend to try and look forward to the next game these days. In my younger days yesterday would have spoilt my weekend, now as a fifty something it’s one of those things, as will/would be relegation. I’ll still be watching the mighty Boro and posting ***** on social media next season and the one after that etc.. #utb

I imagine "anger" comes with what you said about having "absolutely no control": we`ve been served up inferior product on a regular basis and it feels like over the next horizon will come the next "Messiah". The kind of "jam tomorrow" promise, or belief that if we work harder there is sugar-candy mountain in the sky above the clouds........if only we stick out the pain and put up with what we get..........it will all be alright come tomorrow.*
Personally I feel baffled and bewildered - as a fellow sufferer said yesterday - "left in limbo" waiting for an answer - knowing not when it may come?

*Perhaps that`s cynicism which comes with experience?
