Anyway back to the positives

Positives

Fewer games to play, so less chance of injuries and suspensions

Fewer distractions from the league

Games we play will be more evenly spread out e.g. Watford game is on a Saturday opposed to being squashed in mid week, as the Fulham home game was last season

Today we were brought down to Earth and that helps stop complacency creeping in, especially after 3 wins on the trot.

Good crowd - nearly 22k

Archer got some time on the pitch

Didn't get giant killed unlike Championship sides: Coventry, Rotherham, QPR or have to face replays like Luton and WBA.

Only 1 booking

Some players were used more sparingly than a normal game e.g. Forss and McGree

No injuries on the pitch.

We played some decent counter attacking stuff first half, really stretched Brightons defence. But couldn't sustain this for any period of time.

Despite Brighton passing through/around us like an exhibition game we kept our shape - we're not going to play a team as good as Brighton this season so the discipline element can be taken as a positive. I suppose.

Hayden Hackney.
