Yeah. Much respect to that guy. Running a pub, building a house, a poorly wife and then to top it off a pandemic and he still managed it.It was superb. Made me happy and sad throughout the episode.
The spirit of those 2 young people had me in awe of them.
Superb watching and what a home they built.
been a cracking start to the series so far. the house last week was ridiculous.
Oh I missed it will try and watch it in catch up. One of my favourite programmes of late. I would love to have the money and attitude and resilience needed to build my own home.
Hmm I don’t have the appetite for the debt nor the family connections for that!!!! Would still love to do it one day if I ever had the cash. One thing I've learnt from Grand Designs is you don't need the money, you simply need access to lots of credit and a laissez-fair attitude to taking on even more high cost debt. Usually coupled with a family member who can step in and top up your funds by another couple of hundred thousand when you decide you want a fancier swimming pool, or drawbridge.
3rd job on my list if I ever win big on the lottery.Oh I missed it will try and watch it in catch up. One of my favourite programmes of late. I would love to have the money and attitude and resilience needed to build my own home. Some of these transformations are amazing! It would be hard for sure. It fun along the way and then when you are finally sat in the finished article cracking open your first beer - aaaah - what a feeling that would be!
The house wasn't that ridiculous, but the owner sure as hell was.
Same here, he was dealing with the sorts of figures that most people would be alien to.we had to google his family home to find out who he was. like he was ever going to struggle to pay for that renovation! haha
To be fair the lad and lass last night did most of the work, although clearly bequeathed the 50 grand kitchen... Dont think they were tooSame here, he was dealing with the sorts of figures that most people would be alien to.
It was an incredible result, but not much of an achievement for someone whose family is incredibly wealthy.
Haven't seen last nights yet, but generally I went off the programme due to the succession over over-indulged, self-obsessed people. To be fair the lad and lass last night did most of the work, although clearly bequeathed the 50 grand kitchen... Dont think they were to indulged, unlike the toss pot the week before.
There have been some pretty grim episodes in the past where marriages have failed, projects never completed, normally down to over indulgent grandiose plans .
Watching now. Bringing me to tears. It was superb. Made me happy and sad throughout the episode.
