Anyone had a downstairs toilet fitted?

We had one done but I couldnt recomend the fella. He did a decent amount of work but couldnt figure out how to connect it all up.
I was at an away game and rang up to see how it was going. The Mrs said he was having trouble cos it was a Spanish made toilet and their millimeteres were bigger than ours . 😳😳.
Plumber up the road finished it.

Main issue is the soil pipe , if you have one close by it’s fine but if you need a floor digging up then most your expense will be there . I’m not a fan of saniflos .

Worth a try to see if your dad can qualify for a a grant if he can’t make stairs etc

Put a one in my old mums ex-council house - converted the outside coalhouse and extended the outside door to the end of the coalhouse. Put a new door inside - cost 3 grand. Linking the soil pipe to the old one was a chew after that simply brickwork and water fit --- Guy who fitted was an ex builder semi retired and his elderly chippy/hand... lovely job and 2 really decent elderly chaps. That was 4 years ago and no issues. he said main functional area is the soil pipe and not to have a tight bend in the line

I think the best bet would be to use the garage annex and block the back door up. This would allow us a clear run to the soil pipe without having to dig any floors up.
