Anyone Going to Riverside Open Day on Tuesday?

The idea is people can refamiliarise themselves with going to their seats etc at the ground. After such a long time out and with worries around Covid this is an opportunity to feel a little more confident ahead of Bristol City. (You email them to book a time slot).

It's a nice bit of fan engagement by the club.

I'm in. The whole refamiliarise thing doesn't seem necessary to me, I just thought it'd be cool to have a wander around the stadium when it's not rammed.

I’m not really sure what the point is? Have people really forgotten how to get into the stadium and sit in their allotted seat?

I haven't booked a time, but I'm planning to go. I'm still not confident about going to matches, so I want to get some idea of how the club plan to manage things.

Some younger fans who are autistic or similar and never been there before will perhaps find it invaluable to familiarise themselves in a new environment without the fans and PA commotion on the first match . Doesn’t do any harm to do and like I say could be a godsend for a guardian

There are many fans that have been in touch with the club over the past few months that have expressed anxiety about returning.
I felt it myself to some extent returning to the Riverside for the England games - walking down Corporation Road and starting to funnel into a crowd, it is a strange and unfamiliar feeling after so long out of the crowd.

800 going now.
Clearly a really good idea.
Lots of people will be there for the opportunity to have an open day at the Riverside in school holidays and many will be going to help take the edge off any anxiety ahead of the first home game.

So are covid stations etc …new one way systems going to be in place? New signs etc? If not I don’t get the point of it at all.

Yes, I'd be there if I was local. As it is I'm going straight into it at Fulham on Sunday. Not sure how I feel about that right now.

Humpty what’s your issue with this? The club get knocked for a whole host of things, including this, yet you feel the need to criticise and ridicule? Some welcome the initiative. You are very shallow to feel the need to criticise something pro active from the club

What we learned last night was that the club have communicated with well over 100 fans over the summer (selected randomly) and so they have an awful lot of feedback to work with and lots of personal contacts that are now being re-visited.
During the open day the club staff will talk to fans and add this to all the feedback and then put it all together to issue FAQs on the website well ahead of the Bristol City game. So, hopefully there will be a lot of information and a lot of questions answered before making the first return. There is also always an opportunity for anyone not able to make it today to ask some questions of Supporters Services staff.
I think the Supporters Forum could well shoot another video as done before the Bournemouth pilot game last season if that is thought a good idea.
