Anyone else in 30s struggled to book Covid jab?

I had my invitation ages ago, tried numerous times a day to book it since, and have never have once been offered the appointment where everyone else in my age range has had theirs within a mile of my home. At best, the closest place I get offered most is Newcastle area, 60 odd mile round trip for both jabs ... once I was lucky enough to get it offered at Darlington football ground so at least some progress ... but thought I will give it another week or so see if there are finally more appointments in my area or Middlesbrough area in general (though I live within R&C range) ..

I have had no such luck .. hearing it's a widespread complaint among my age range. I'm 35 .. and must have tried 10 or more times a day in the past fortnight and they are all on the outskirts of Newcastle City centre or within the City it's self.

I have raised concerns to GP/111 and just passed from pillar to post with conflicting advice. Basically, I can't do anything unless a jab in my actual area comes available.

Some would say just get both jabs booked further up North and move on but it's not convenient at all to travel like that for two jabs at moment. Hell, even some people refuse to travel as far as 20 miles away to get theirs done .. can't say I've ever had such luck to be offered them even that closely yet! :ROFLMAO:

It is coming up two months now and nothing seems to be improving. At a loss what to do about it, the longer I wait to get a jab locally the more at risk I am and I just want to get it out the way.

They are doing a walk in at the dr surgery in North Ormsby… just have to turn up
That's only for those within Middlesbrough Council postcode area isn't it?? Was led to believe it's not available for those within R&C which is where I am.

Sorry missed the bit where you said you were Redcar.

i just checked for Middlesbrough area and the closest was darlo arena from the 12th onwards

Not sure if it helps but both my missus and I managed to get ours booked at the riverside a few weeks ago and had it within the week when it was 25-30. Using the website to book.

Ring the booking number and ask what the quickest appointment available to you is. When I got my 2nd app they offered me one a week later at Acklam. I asked what about the Riverside stadium and she said you can go tomorrow which I did.

I will just keep asking for advice. As mentioned I don't think the likes of the Riverside etc I am able to be considered for, given me being in R&C .. or so I have been told by advice from telephone enquiries I have made a lot over the past few weeks.

Seems there is a wait until such a place is available for my side the area, but I hope something will pop up out the blue at the place most in my area have been getting theirs booked, or at least were with pre-existing conditions in the high-risk category.

I will keep checking and see if I can get this hurried up as it's been a long time now and they are already down to the under 30s .. frustrating stuff.

Had the exact same issue - luckily i managed to catch the NHS bus that was parked in Stockton a few weeks back for a couple of days and got my first jab that way.

Sorry I meant to say that I’m from Redcar as well and still managed to get the Riverside. Somewhere in Acklam was coming up as an option as well.

Ah, encouraging .. was told my GP and receptionists those were within the Middlesbrough Council postcodes .. I'll have to follow it up.

Still unsure why they wouldn't have just listed these options when trying to book with app, but it doesn't seem perfect.

I'll just see what I can find hopefully sooner than too late. Cheers

It doesn't matter where you are from. I live in Boro and I had my first jab in York as it came up as the quickest place to get it. 2nd was in the Riverside.

All sorted now, finally had a booking available on Tuesday so had my first jab on Wednesday at the Riverside. All went quickly despite the numbers in the queues and the staff involved very helpful and friendly. All doing a super job.

My second one is due in September. I didn't get much of a reaction the following day, bar a dead arm and feeling a bit like it does the day after a long hike or a game of 5-a-side for the first time in ages :ROFLMAO:

The arm is still feeling bruised, but all sorted.
