Anyone doing a bit of bodging during the lockdown

Over the last weeks I have just getting on with jobs around the house. So week one I dismantled an old boiler in the attic and used the copper pipes to make a lamp on some driftwood. Dismantled the shed and used the wood to make a surround for the garden. Painted the BBQ and the garden furniture and finally today I made a feed table for the Squirrels, little shoite gave me a dirty look at the bodged job I have made of it.

Not exactly a bodge but my lawnmower packed up; in normal times I’d have binned it and bought another, but I stripped it down, cleaned and lubed the switch, sharpened the blade and fettled the hover mechanism. 10 times better now. Also spent about three hours soldering and repairing garden solar lights that originally cost three quid each. Made me realise how wasteful we’ve become.

My back fence goes green with algae quite quickly. It's due to lack of sun and light I think as there are a lot of trees and bushes down there. I used to pressure wash it off but it would come back quickly.
Having time on my hands I used an algae killer and sprayed the fence. Its killed the algae ok but its gone white where the algae has died. Now I'm going to have to figure out how to get the white stuff off. If I pressure wash it it will go green again as the damp will bring the algae back.
I'm no Titchmarsh that's for sure.

We had some ground elder in the garden so instead of weedkiller I fenced it off and put the chickens in there. One week later it's devoid of plant life and completely barren (y)

Instead of buying horticultural fleece to protect seedlings from birds & frost I bodged together a cloche from some polycarbonate sheeting from an old greenhouse a neighbour got rid of and a pallet. The pallet was a bitch to take apart but all in all it saved me a few quid and kept me busy for a few hours.

This thread is useless without pictures :)
