Anyone been out and about doing any non essential shopping today?

Was it mental? Long queues? I need a few things and it'd be nice to not pay for and wait for delivery.

(I've seen the Primark pics, but that place is a law unto itself)

Not even been over the doorstep yet. Might be going to a pub Thursday evening, but no intention of going shopping just yet.

I was going to give it a week, but if it's not total madness I may poke my head out of my shell.
I've had my first vaccine so a little more at ease with it, but still being careful, following the rules/distancing and not going anywhere too busy tbh.

I drove past our local on the way home which has a Porkys next door which was full to the rafters, obviously fully booked. The pub is just doing first come first served and as well as being full, there was a queue of at least 30+ people waiting to get in, I suspect a very long wait ahead of them. I might get an early dart on Friday so we could pop down mid afternoon, but I won't be queuing. I think I'll probably give it a miss for the first weekend at least before we venture down. There were people queuing at 9am (possibly earlier) for some pubs in the town (Newcastle) and yes, primark, jd sports and tk maxx all had big queues today. Whatever floats your boat I suppose

Nipped into an outlet mall earlier and it was fine. Queues outside some shops but some you could just walk straight in. I was only there to get my haircut though.

On my tour of the local barber shops I noticed different policies, two had every waiting chair filled, all young barbers and young customers, the other had a two only policy, old barber and older blokes.

Queued outside the clubshop for over an hour and a quarter (with less than 30 people infront of me) only to discover the stuff i liked the look of they only had xxl/xxxl or small or medium left

Seems to me that the way the Government is mismanaging the whole thing is unreal. I have to have an appointment, wait outside in the car until they're ready, then they take my temperature and my phone number. Half the chairs are blocked off and I have to wear my facemask throughout.

Good to see a brand new bookshop selling real books opening up in Loftus (which surprised me a little). There is an article in the Gazette below - Good luck to the owner.

I previously only knew Loftus as a small mining town which has seen much better days, somewhere you drove through to somewhere else when the Moors road to Whitby was blocked with snow, but it looks like its fighting back.
