It has had a massive makeover from the big new car park, through the plush entrance shop to the local history, farm and natural history exhibits and activities.
There are a couple of walk/talk/cream tea events coming up over the next couple of weeks as part of Local History Month.
Tuesday - 11am to 1pm – Newham Grange Farm: talk, walk, and cream tea

Did you know Newham Grange Farm was mentioned in the Domesday Book (1086 AD)? Records show this area of Cleveland has been farmed for over 900 years, and we know that the Hopper family worked the land at Newham Grange since 1580. To celebrate History Month, we’re offering a talk and walk showing the history of the farm, a presentation from artist Carol Newmarch, and a cream tea to finish (fruit scone with clotted cream and preserve, and a cup of tea).

Cost: £6.50

Book: for more information and to book, visit the Newham Grange website - Events

Feedback from last week -

"It was a glorious morning for the Local History Month event, and the participants were all very vocal about how much they'd enjoyed it, and how interesting it was. For some it was their first time to the farm, and they loved it, others said it made them see things at the farm that they hadn’t noticed before. All were keen to know about future events and workshops."

Went with the daughter and family on a wet day, it was an ok for a few hours out. If it's had a makeover, I dread to think what it was like before, but that said It's local and children like it.

Just put in a more direct link for those wishing to book for themselves or family or friends. Lots to see and do and an interesting talk about the local and farming history of the area before industrialisation (and after). There is currently a lot of arts and crafting at the site, much revamped following its recent reopening.
