Another Nail In The Coffin For Democracy

I was unaware of this until my mate told me about it earlier on the phone. Having read the article I should not be surprised really. It seems only the government will have the right to determine what is in the publics interest if these changes are enacted.
(Warning, it is a Daily Mail article, but still….)

When similar is done in places like Turkey we just looked on and thought "Wow, how backwards and dictatorial is that" Now it's happening here.

It should be noted the Nazi party passed similar laws in the thirties.

Does that mean we can’t watch ’ all the Presidents men ‘ type movies .

Joking apart its not just contemptible to want do this but is of more worry to me that they think they briskly can

This survalance stuff. We'll before mobiles a mate of mine, a scout master, was a senior member of CND. He used the phone, and told me to keep hold of the phone in the bedroom. At the end of his call about 10 seconds later there was a click. He said his phone had been monitored for years.

Blame lies with those who put them in power, The signs were there

That is simply far too simplistic and unfair. The blame lies not with voters, but mostly with the opposition parties for their failures to persuade the voting public that their policies their visions were the best for the voting public and the country. Failing to gain the trust of the voters, allowing the incumbent government the freedom to get away with lies and corrupt actions, failure to address vital issues and failure to call out the wrongs of the government.

The opposition parties were all over the shop on brexit, the economy, taxation, affordability, lacking effective strategies, evasive in too many areas, looking lost in interviews to the degree that the public just could not trust them enough. People are fearful of change, if there is something they don’t like or trust about a leader or leaders then they will plump for keeping the status quo, like it or not people saw Johnson as someone they related to more than Corbyn. Slogans that strike a chord with the reality of everyday life cut through. Cummings has proven that to be true. Blair had Education, Education, Education.

Voters don’t just look at what politicians say either, they look for leaders that are charismatic, have personality and look like they know what they are talking about even when they really don’t. Principles don’t win elections unfortunately, personalities can though.

I had my phone monitored for about 6 months from March 2003 at the start of the war, whilst in conversation with my son at Uni. He said all his electrics in his house and street were out. I jokingly said have you not seen the news re the start of the war, it is a security measure to avoid TS1 being carpet bombed.

Every single call from that day on for 6 months when my phone rang their would be a split second lag, a click then i could hear my callers voice. When ending the call there was another click, a whirring and then the normal tone. On every call I used to say to the caller if I hadn’t pre informed them that GCHQ were listening in and my calls were being monitored. They must have computers monitoring all calls but pick up on selective words phrases to cause an individual to then be monitored more closely. My joking use of the phrase carpet bombing was probably the trigger.

There's all sorts going on that people don't seem to care about. Brexit was just the start of it. By the time the country wakes up it'll be too late. Some of the changes that the Johnson puppet government want to make on behalf of a select few might change things for generations.
