Another mass shooting in the USA

But hey, let’s not infringe any bodies civil rights, the 2nd amendment says so……. …’A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.’

Awful, likely to have terrible ramifications as well for the U.S.A given its already a tinderbox.

I'm working with an American at the moment, he's a decent bloke, but as I've seen before, get him talking about guns and he's nuts. He's had his grand daughter shooting already and his position is that the States with least guns have higher crime so it'd be better if more people were armed.

This NRA narrative, the good guys need more and bigger guns than the bad guys........🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

I worked for GE for a spell in the UK. We frequently had to undertake company e-learning exercises. The one on 'Workplace Conflict' had a section on firearms at work, how it was against company policy and that we should report anyone who turned up 'packing heat'. Crackers!🙄

I've worked with quite a few. Most were from the South and most thoroughly decent people. Get them talking about guns though and it was mental. I remember one training course in Louisiana. For about 25 minutes the whole class including the tutor talked guns and ammunition. I was the only non American there and couldn't believe it.

One of the people there actually said to me at break "you didn't understand any of that discussion did you?". Nope! Not a chance.

Yes, my wife had similiar with her company which is UK based but has American owners. One of the multiple choice questions involved a situation where you are in the bathroom and a colleague is getting something out of there handbag and you notice that they have a pistol.

Among the multiple choice answers there was nothing there about calling the police and putting the building on lockdown and immediatly sacking the person.

Isn't there around 1 mass shooting a week in the States? I think that was the case a couple of years ago anyway. So in reality I suppose it's news when there isn't a mass shooting which is a sad indictment of how messed up US gun control is.

Such a sad and despicable situation, where a white person feels the need to massacre a number of innocent black people.

Black Lives Matter

Sad news from a city I’ve visited many times.

Buffalo is a great city with good people and it’s shocking to see such an horrific act like this.

rip

Thoughts and prayers with the victims and their loved ones but not with the USA as a nation.
I have long since stopped trying to rationalise this lunacy and have accepted they are beyond help as a nation on this.
This.
Think I mentioned it before on here, I worked with a Hispanic American Submariner who had 15 weapons in his house including 3 AR-15s (Armalite).
He kept them for 'protection'...as it was his "goddam right to have them".

The other American lads used to give me the"we're not all like that" look.

We were in Georgia and pulled up in a service station. I started to have a chat with a lady who could not understand my accent. She was disbelieving our Police do not have guns as standard, and that nearly everyone in the UK does not own one.
She had no idea where the UK was.
