"Let us not forget why there have been three days of protest in Bristol; Because the government wants to take away the right to protest"

Mar 28, 2021

"Events of the 21st and 23rd and now 26th in Bristol have propelled the city to national consciousness as a symbol of resistance to the Governmentā€™s new Police and Crime Bill. After the 21st, the police ā€“ who have their own media relations people to help shape the narrative ā€“ saw the press give the protestors almost universal condemnation and there were many, many stories of serious injuries to cops such as broken bones and a punctured lung. Let's face it. You volunteer for the riot police because you like riots.
Riot police are just normal police who have done some extra training (week long course) and have been provided with some extra kit to wear during riots.

They do there regular job the other ā€œ51 weeksā€ of the year.

Although some will have volunteered, many will have simply been instructed to do it.

No, not Bristol. Iā€™m talking about the Government waging war, diminishing rights etc. Weā€™re sleepwalking into a very disturbing political landscape. If you canā€™t see that youā€™re either blind, or wilfully ignorant.
Peterloo .Not blind or wilfully ignorant.Stop being a drama queen.I thought the Tooting popular front disbanded years ago but it`s live and kicking on this board but with a bit more edge.Still funny tho.

ā€œPeaceful protestā€.

Well, yes, lasers donā€™t make any noise as you deliberately shine them into a police officerā€™s eyeballs, as has been reported, do they? I think the officer probably makes a bit of a noise as they are blinded, though.

Just imagine the comments if anyone shone a laser into a protesterā€™s eyes.
