Another below average Jones performance.

Yeah. We’ll play with 10 and still win the league.

UTB.

Of course jones plays. I think he’s doing ok and is starting to get at players again. I think wilder has reigned him in abit and wants him to vary his game so he isn’t so predictable

Did well winding Cabango up. He needs better protection from the refs in this league. Teams are getting permission to chop him multiple times before its given as a foul.

Hasn't kicked on; get rid.

Seriously, we need to remember he spent the first half of last season playing as an out and out winger. Now he's playing wingback.

Plus teams know about him now. He will find it harder to make an impact this year.

2 assists and 1 goal in 6 games is pretty good considering.

His pace and trickery causes teams all sorts of problems. Jones will lose the ball sometimes but that happens when players are prepared to take a risk. We should be supporting the kid, he will create loads of chances for the strikers this season and is a key player for us in my opinion.
I would have agreed for 2 thirds of last season, but I can’t agree with “causes all sorts of problems” on recent showings. Yes - he used to, but he doesn’t best the fullbacks with anything like the regularity he used to.

Teams are more aware of the threat he causes so are set up to make him less effective. Luckily for us this season we have Giles on the other side who is just as good at creating opportunities. Teams can't double up on both of them. He will get bags of assists this season.
He's exactly the type of player I want to see at the Boro. Young, hungry, not everything he tries will come off but it doesn't stop him trying again. I watched a podcast with him on in pre season and he's a London lad who loves it up here in the North East and he's committed and getting his head down and doing a job for us. He needs our support, he's a fantastic young talent.

i was at the game today, what was noticeable was jones is good and swansea tried to foul him a lot. hes a marked man now. they had 2 on him every time he got near the ball. when it was one on one they fouled him. he'll have his quiet games but hes still a cracking little player.

I think despite the raw numbers, there are still big improvements to be made in terms of how we get both Jones and Giles into the areas where they can really hurt teams.

Jones is quick and has skills but doesn’t have the best delivery. He always aims to drill the ball low and hard into the near post area when deep or cuts it back when he gets in behind the defence. Teams seem to have cottoned on to this and set up to stop it. It’s up to the player and coaches to add something else to his game.

He does get a lot of players booked. If only he didn’t go down far to easily sometimes. I think he would win more free kicks in dangerous areas if he wasn’t so eager to collapse under the slightest bit of contact

1 goal and 2 assists in 6 games suggests you don’t really know what you’re talking about.
He clearly hasn’t looked as easy on the eye as he had done for a lot of last season . Hopefully the team as a whole will become more settled once the window shuts and everyone knows where their are .
