Andy Preston facing serious allegations

Mr P appears to have taken the lead of Mr Francois and is incredibly quiet at the moment.
Might, of course, be a coincidence

According to his Facebook page it is an issue that has already been dealt with once but has been dredged up again by Andy McDonald.
We shall see.

They both should be concerning themselves with serving the community...nothing surprises me in politics anymore.

That's why I'll never vote again !

It's noted in Mr Preston's facebook comments that he doesn't deny being caught watching porn in his office...

BRB, my multi-millionaire boss has left his personal laptop on and open  , and went out for a few hours, I'm just going to pop a sexy screen saver on it.

Years ago I was asked if I would stand as a local councillor, there was no Chance. The second you join a committee or councillor you are automatically bent.

A councillor around the corner from me had his car burnt out

It's like having a few Bob , if you buy a drink you are a clever sod, if you don't you are tight.

On the whole people are pretty horrible to any public official.

It's why I admire Rob for running this place, I would not put up with the stick.

Daily Mail are reporting on it now.

It's certainly strange behaviour by Preston. Just put yourself in his position. Why would you start a publicity campaign on social media defending yourself over something that would be easily dealt with internally? It would be easy to tell the source of any inappropriate images. The other thing is what's this got to do with Andy McDonald? He doesn't have anything to do with council investigations. Not sure why his name has been brought into it.

The thing I don’t get in his statement is that he denies he knows anything about it... but doesn’t mention an investigation into how it got there.

If that was me I would be going mental to find out who had access to the computer and once found out the person would be sacked.

surely this has further implications from a security perspective too?

I also don’t understand how he can leave his office unlocked

the original investigation (if you can call it that) seems to have brushed it under the carpet so I agree it needs to be looked at again purely from a security point of view alone

I wonder if his aim is preemptive, to get his side of the story out there before it inventively comes out anyway?

The person authorised to use the computer is the person responsible for its use and security.
If inappropriate content was on it then he is bang to rights. I'm sure IT could confirm that or not. If not then his accuser is up the creek without a paddle.

Never met the bloke but he does seem like a dodgy slimeball ,but most property developers are. No doubt he is using his electoral position to trouser shed loads of money before he disappears back to his palace.

He said in an interview I read a few weeks ago that he's 'not the f**king devil'. Well that's someting I suppose.

I’ve done media training for interviews.
The advice was clear - don’t say what you are ‘not’ (doing for example) say what you are.
Once you say I’m not the devil - there is a subliminal guilt trip.
In his case, not so subliminal

I'm no particular fan of Preston but doesn't the seemingly underhand nature of the local Labour Party worry the people of the town?

There was that bizarre issue where Cllr Thompsons neither in law approached Preston in a pub too?..
