Britt through his entire career has scored 1 in 2, a very good rate for a striker. It is only at Middlesbrough that he has dropped to 1 in 3. Coincidence? Probably not we have been poor at providing chances for any of our strikers. Oh and his wages and fee have nothing to do with the situation.
 
They do tho because hes cost us an absolute fortune and his performance and effort fall far far below him being good value for that money. So unfortunately his wages and transfer fee have a huge bearing on what some people will deem to be an acceptable contribution for him. Worse than 1 in 3 and jack all else on the pitch isnt cutting it for me.

Also he had plenty of chances in the seasons previous to this he squandered most of them. Let's hope he doesnt have a repeat performance of his first game against Forrest for us when he missed a hat trick of sitters.

He doesn't miss a load of sitters every week though and his salary and fee have nothing to do with his contribution. If that were the case you would expect less from other players which is nonsense.
 
Not at all you would expect 100% from everyone but his 100% to be in most games much better than most on the pitch instead of 60% and anonymous watching the game go by on his backside when hes brushed by one of the defenders

I'm not sure being camped in the opposition half can be called negative. Poor final ball, lack of creativity..maybe. But not negative.
 
60% effort last night, really? He had a thankless job and I imagine it's very tiring grappling with people much bigger than you for much of the night. If you believe he gives 60% you're a fool.
 
When did he grapple barge or do anything of the sort last night? Your just making stuff up your making yourself sound silly. Their striker was deserted on his own about the same height and I'd imagine weighs less that britt yet he pressured our defenders won a few headers and nearly set up a goal. He had certainly done more than Britt in terms of putting himself about and being a nuisance. Britt although not tall looks overweight for his size yet has zero strength and not enough heart to fight for the ball. Not good enough

You are right of course.
He won zero headers, he won zero tackles, he was booked, he blasted high and wide with a free kick but he scored a goal.
I reckon his effort was about 50%.
and thats being kind to him.
 
A thankless job? He had Robert's with him in the dominant side. Their striker had a thankless job probably cost less than a packet of nik naks and did his job better than britt for the majority of that match. If you want to make excuses for him fine but you cant expect the midfield to be playing Gerrard balls for him all game hes got to make things happen be aggressive with the ball pick it up play it to Robert's look for a give and go drag the defenders around but he just doesnt
 
I think its pretty clear Eziozi's Ghost you don't rate Britt. Which is fair enough, your not alone.

So you've basically got two choices, get behind a player representing the team your endeavouring to support, hope he does well, give him credit where it's due and hope we replace him a player who you rate higher.
Or slag him off at every opportunity to an irrational degree, be meally mouthed and churlish in any faint praise you do give and basically act as though you want a player representing Middlesbrough FC to fail.
One will make you come across as a genuine supporter, the other a total kn0b head.
 
I'm not moaning I'm giving my opinion on our record signing who I feel is playing poorly. I have him credit for taking his goal last night but we made him our record signing to blast us to the prem and hes been nowhere near good enough. That said if he bangs 20 in this season and we go up I'll hold my hands up and say great signing hes done his job.

That last remark sounds like a person who has just come up short in a discussion!

I can only imagine its a medical problem so we will say no more about it.
And try again.

I AM a Boro supporter, have been for many years.
I know what I like and definitely know what I don’t like.
There have been very few players over the years that have frustrated me like Britt Assombalonga.
I cannot see him getting any better....can you ?.
In order for me to change my mind about him before he hopefully leaves in the new year, and it is only my opinion of course he needs to improve his game considerably.

I don’t really want much, an ability to shoot straight, be stronger When tackled, stay upright and improve his heading in the opposition box.
A tall order I know, but its not impossible.
All the above can be attained with practice, I am
However given that he has not improved one iota in any aspect of his game for 3 years or more, I think it is unlikely.

so you see, I have reasons for not being a fan his.
I would dearly like to know why you feel he should be defended.

And before you say, cos he’s a Boro player, then I ask.... did you defend that other spud Rudy Gestede before he was found out and booted out by Neil Warnock?.
