... And the whingeing was silenced

The difference between last season and this is that we are all aware of our limitations:
we know what we need and we are under no illusions about the difficulties we have to overcome to bring in the players we want.
We know we cant afford to pay over the odds, so we have players who want to be here.

Covid - has changed the whole equation and no one can predict the medium or long term impact on the game.

Last night - it was "tactics" what won the game - not "papering over the cracks".

Neil said the squad is "thin" - "I had 18 players available" - we are doing a damn good job and a better "together" squad now than for a few years.

We risk "burn out" and we will have difficulties when injuries bite, but we`re are doing well given the circumstances.
Every game is a big test.

Forest have a squad of over 30 - and they are up next.
Have faith and watch our band of brothers grow and squeeze out the best in each other as momentum increases.
In some ways there are parallels to 1986...........

Get behing Neil and the lads.
We havent two pennies to rub together, but we`ve got balls, team spirit, hope and the best best flippin Manager in this league this season.
Bring it on.

Now then agent r00fie1, I think Saturday will be our toughest test of the season so far. As we all know thanks to our former world scoured leader, the league table does lie. Forest have a good squad of players. They have appointed a very good manager and are starting to show early signs of a pick-up. We must not get carried away as a squad. More of the same effort in ensuring we keep tight at the back. What is the word on the street in the East Midlands re the Trees this season?

Yesterday, we pressed forward, often we only had a high defensive back line of 1, Dael Fry. That will not work against a Forest squad with pace that can get in behind and hurt. I am looking to see us play a less open game and look to try to hit them on the break or at set pieces. We can’t over commit like we did at times v Coventry, Forest are better placed to punish us if we do.

Confidence must be high, but lets keep it controlled and hope the dice fall our way before Forest re-find their mojo under Hughton 👍

Until he scored, late in the game.he did nothing whatsoever.
Or are you blind?.
If we had had another genuine forward in the pitch in the bench he wouldnt have been on the pitch by then he was so bad.

Does it matter when he scored? The bottom line is he scored and we won the game. Enjoy it instead of getting yourself worked up because a player you don’t rate has impacted the result positively.
It’s not worth the stress honestly

Sorry about the wording.
I am just fed up of people defending this fraud if a striker.
I honestly believe any half decent lad from the Northern League would be bring more to our general play than this bloke.
Roll on january when we can get shot of him.

are you joking.
If ever a game papered over cracks this was it.

That's the name of the game isn't it?
Whoever papers over their cracks most effectively gets promoted.

There are no perfect teams at this level; everyone has their limitations.

Last night we faced a Coventry side who parked the bus. That's always hard to break down, but there's nothing lucky about making the breakthrough in the 81st minute.

Well you are right there.
Assombalonga is not worth the stress
That is a fact.

We have some negative fans on here, miserable gets!
And some that just tells it like it is.

Which do you prefer?.
Truth or lies

Captain Assombalonga, masterly called the coin toss right and picked the way to kick off, he was largely redundant until he took that free kick which nearly hit the Navigation Pub.
No matter, the in form assombalonga will have more chances to convert.
The rest if the half was uneventful as far as Britt was concerned with a few shoves in the back from defenders but no matter, the laundry lass will sort the shorts in the morning.
Second half.........exactly the same for Britt......
In fact its always the same for Captain Britt.

MIRACLE ! Britt scores a good goal and finally breaks the deadlock.

after which Britt reverts to type by falling over time and again and finally getting booked for his own foul.

any lies there?.

He never looked like scoring apart from when he scored. Jesus wept.

i think we all know we won’t be celebrating too many goals from Britt.
This game was against a team that looks certs to be relegated.
We had probably the most possession of any game for 3 seasons.
And the fat lump still struggled.
He is as mobile as a post box.
He needs replacing.
And Neil Warnock knows it !

You have an awfully similar typing style to our old friend hopesoboro. Maybe you have came back on to slag every one off rather than be the super fan from before. He used to call me blockhead aswell, as did you once. Very interesting.

Oh look. Hopesoboro last post was on August 5th. Eziozi Ghost creates an account on August 7th. As I say, how convenient.

Didn't see the game last night, watched the one on Saturday and Akpom did little in that. He's a striker in a side not yet brimming wirh confidence but working hard. And organised.

Once the confidence comes you'll see the movement increase and chances start to appear.

It's then you can judge your strikers.

Back beat, the word is on the street that the fires in their hearts are.....flickering.
They have a second wave of happy - virus.
They get infected with a wave of optimism, which is frequently controlled using the anti-body called "reallity".
Every season they were "Champions of Europe" - and we`l never sing that (?!).
Its more a case of how many of the 34 players are leaving on the next tram and just what Houghton can do with the woodcutters saw?
I wouldnt get too wound up.
Notts County meantime - are quietly getting on with things in the City of Nottingham [Not the County Borough of Rushcliffe].
We will see?:giggle:
