And more dead sea life

We were at Saltburn last week and the waves were the biggest I’ve ever seen them. Lots of surfers really enjoying themselves. Terrible shame about the sea life 😔

I saw some reports that they weren’t washing up dead like the crabs but stranded by higher spring tides…

some were being rescued, so may not be a similar issue to the crab die off…

that doesn’t sell advertising space though 🤷🏼‍♂️

They’re saying it’s because of storms. I’ve lived in Redcar for almost 10 years and seen plenty of storms before 2021, never seen washed up sea life like we do now.
Exactly this. Its as if there has never been a high tide in the past ffs. Was bound to happen again after the dredging restarted. Environment Agency, as with other regulatory bodies are in the back pockets of big business.

Anybody that worked at ICI or British steel realises what was allowed to drain into the Tees. When I worked at Billingham in the !970's the beck that ran into the Tees could be bright blue on day and yellow the other. It's obvious that these pollutants have now been disturbed on the sea bed and have killed the sea life. DEFRA and the Tories just cannot admit to it.

My feeling is its something more than storms. reports describe black material which looks like sea coal but isn't. Its obvious some independent analysis is required of this material.
