Alternatives to American

But as I said in my original post.
It feels right
I do get what you mean, but it’s a bit like when people said they were boycotting the Qatar World Cup. Fair play to them and they are, of course, free to do so but once you start taking that moral stance you have to be consistent (in my opinion) and it’s hard to be consistent across every area of your life.

Yes. We are tripping over Huawei OS PCs at work. Every bit as good as windows with a free login to the Chinese Intelligence portal to save messing about.

Come on. Let's be serious. How could the VAST majority of people live their lives without a US OS?

A boycott of US goods could never happen. Or Chinese.
I'm just saying is Huawei can do it anyone can. Also it's a bit of a meme isn't it the whole "Chinese spyware" stuff. We complain about. On American social media, on which we have signed Ts and Cs starting they can sell our personal information. It's all a bit silly

I think that’s the bit that needs more discussion - being consistent.
I don’t think you have to be.

It’s best to do what is right for you - and that might mean, at times being a hypocrite.
‘Best for you’ can be anything from trying really really hard to boycott stuff (X, Tesla, American wine, Qatar World Cup) to not bothering.

Martyrdom is rare and, in my view, gets you nowhere
Doing something can feel good and does get the individual somewhere.
If enough do something - things can change.

Boycotting the Qatar World Cup was easy - Boro weren't in it
