UPDATED: It is actually 5 coaches, not 4. I forgot about the one we sacked during pre-season.

We are now on to our 5th (updated from 4) head coach this season. José Gomes from Portugal. according to my friend who has just rung me.

Takes first training session this evening. With his own coaching team.

As yet the play-off dates have not been announced. I am guessing the first leg will be in a few days.

Interesting times.

It is interesting to compare the Boro and Almería at the moment.

Almería are going through what a number of people on here appear to want for the Boro.

An owner who will go all out to try to get the team promoted. Investing as much money as they are able to do. Apparently within the rules. Who knows. There have already been a number of clashes about Spanish FFP.

Some of the downsides are:

- lack of stability - you really are on a roller coaster. Particularly as the sheikh had a brain tumour removed recently. So will he still be around or interested in the team in the future. See what has happened to Málaga recently. @Malaguena

- lack of respect for the history of the club - earlier this year he tried to remove the indalo (symbol of the province) from the club badge. He wanted to replace it with a lion. As he believed that would be liked better in other parts of the world.

Sounds a bit like Vincent Tan who made Cardiff change their shirts to red without knowing the ramifications of his actions.
He is still there and Cardiff have as much chance as Almeria has of playing in the Top division next year

Updated now. I had forgotten that we sacked one in pre-season. So it is 5.

The new manager was in charge at Reading for 291 days in 2018 and 2019 (according to Wiki).
