It’s about time he justified the faith that everybody seems to be putting in him though. We used to have great goalies at the Boro in my life time. Lately we haven’t.

Keepers always get stick when they screw up as it's usually visibly costly. The forwards, who spurned 13 chances tonight, haven't endured the same scrutiny. We win or lose as a team.

One thing missing from last night was the team losing confidence in the keeper. They kept on passing to him the way that they have done in other games where a defender has fluffed his lines and cost us a goal.

Those saying get behind him, we all do at games, nobody gives him or any player the boo boy treatment during games as far as I can see and hear. Commenting on his numerous errors in games and siting his weaknesses afterwards is not something he wont be acutely self aware of anyway.

Those that have played regularly for teams will know that even in the most ‘together‘ teams, chinks occur when someone is consistantly making errors that cost results. What players and managers say publicly and think privately can be two very separate things. We have 3 goalkeepers, throwing Sol in at the deep end would be a huge gamble. Daniels had his moments when he played too and did not seem commanding either. It may well be we have Hobson’s choice till the summer and Wilder will do what is best. If Lumley really is the best we have so be it, I trust Wilder to do the right thing for the team now and fix the issue in the summer.

I think it’s a big test for Wilder. We’re playing well but as Coluka mentions, the entire squad is acutely aware of the situation and there is definite potential for disruption of the harmony that has been cultivated in the last few months.
