Alfie jones incoming

Is pace really that important for a centre back? Useful certainly. But if you can read the game well and do everything else well, its not essential. Been plenty of top class centre backs over the years not blessed with pace.

If you're relying on your centre backs winning foot races against the opposition I'd argue you've got bigger issues to worry about.
The issue is right across the defence - As things stand we have Ayling, whose legs have gone: Borges, great attitude but slow for a full/wing back, Fry with the turning circle of an oil tanker, Edmondson (nuff said) and Lenihan who hasn't kicked a ball in the best part of 2 seasons.
Bangura is quick, but seemingly a perma-crock.
Pace isn't a cure-all for sure, but we are in need of some.

Great another right footed Centre back if thats where he plays him, dear me another good idea.

We have Borges who can play there and a left back who hasnt played much for the last 2 seasons.

Seems there’s some solid defensive links coming in without any pretence that their the next best thing . Looks like there’s a level of reliability about the two recent ones .

He can play LCH , he is an old fashioned hard as nails CB who puts his head and feet in . He will be an upgrade on all our centre Backs .
It would not surprise me if one of Lenihan or Edmundson went the other way .
I would also take
Drameh
Alzate
Pandur
Kamara
Using our fringe players in exchange if possible.

Can they sign them whilst under embargo? Or is it they just can't pay money for players till outsanding fees are paid off?

They can only take free transfers and loans (with total wages not going up).

If I was a Boro fringe player, and was offered to Hull in exchange for one of their players....I'd refuse to sign for Hull. You don't know if you are going to get your wages, if the club is going to go pop, but you do know they'll have one of the weakest squads in the league. There's nothing of incentive to our players to go there.

Apart from getting 1st team football.

Can't say I know much about him other than he exists. Seems like the kind of player we need. From what I know I would personally hope for someone like Joe Worrall on loan with option or McKenna on a free. Hull owner is a nightmare to deal with as well. I do think we need 2-3 highly Championship experienced players this season who will give a bit of leadership, gamesmanship and consistency of performance. If we can add some pace and creativity from young players alongside them, that will be, I reckon, a good window.

Personally, and this differs from fan to fan, but it’s one of the first things I want in a player … to exist - prime box ticked ✅
