Albert joins the Hoops

I think his stint at the Boro was the pinnacle of his career.

Albert Adomah will have a medical at QPR tomorrow ahead of his proposed move, as per a report by West London Sport.

The Hoops are set to bolster their options out wide by bringing the experienced winger to his boyhood club.

Adomah, who is 32 years old, was released by Nottingham Forest during this past week and is poised to join QPR on a free transfer.

The ex-Bristol City, Middlesbrough and Aston Villa man has racked up 641 appearances in his career to date, scoring 106 goals along the way.

He has also gained promotion to the Premier League twice before so would be a useful signing for the R’s if they get it over the line.

Yes. I remember some claiming that going to a match with his school friends was somehow trying to "engineer" a move to QPR.

Good luck to him; was the best thing to watch at our club for 2 years until Gaston arrived.

Yes, seem to remember him going over to speak to friends and family in the stand after we played them down there, think it was that Friday night match.

Good luck to him. Still a decent player at this level and this is the move be wanted years ago.

From what I’ve seen of QPR they need a CB that can head the ball more, every time I’ve seen them concede it’s from a cross or a corner.

Albert has had a good career, moved about, made a few bob.
It looks like QPR are benefitting from his seemingly genuine love of the club.

Good luck to him I say, however, he was never really my favourite player.
Always seemed a bit too laid back for my liking, might have been his running style, I dunno.
But he certainly chipped in with goals and for a few months he was a very very important player for us.

Fulfilling a long-held wish. Zinger tower meal.

Still think Karanka made a mistake selling him and Nsue. Nsue and Albert would have offered us far more as a pairing down the right than Barragan and Stuani did.

Loved Albert. Always remember him killing us whenever we played Bristol City, so delighted when he signed for us. I agree that Karanka should not have sold him.

Fantastic signing for us👍

He was part of a clutch of really good signings like Ayala / friend / Leadbitter. We got some value for money out of that lot.

He was the 'typical' always played well against us signing. He was always the standout player for Bristol City (along with Nicky Maynard)

I think Adomah and the club had made his mind up that him and Karanka had gone the distance.
There were rows daily apparently.
Don’t forget though, we got Traore as part of the deal with Villa.
Was it an upgrade for us ?
I think so.

I thought Nsue / Albert / Dimi and Nugent were all hard done by. They were very much part of a squad that won promotion. Grant Leadbitter openly said it divided the dressing room.

I'm not sure any of the signings we brought in were value for money? They all soon fecked off after massive payday loans. The recruitment was awful that summer. Did we really need Valdes😕

Nsue, Albert and Dimi all deserved the chance. I think Ayala was slightly hard done by as well, although to be fair Chambers did well for us, so really the decision was justified.

Leadbitter was unlucky as he was injured when the season kicked off so it was understandable why Karanka brought in a replacement. De Roon was obviously brought in to be that replacement, and I think him getting injured on the opening day was a massive blow. Karanka wanted to stick with 4-2-3-1 I think but with a midfield 2 of Clayton and Forshaw we were overrun in midfield, that's why he switched to the 3 midfielders, so by the time De Roon came back into the side he was used as a box-to-box midfielder. If we could have used him as another defensive midfielder alongside Clayton I reckon we'd have been able to stick with Ramirez as a no 10 and that would have benefited Negredo, having Ramirez playing off him.

If we'd have had this team that season I think we'd have been fine;

..................................Dimi......................................

Nsue.......Chambers.......Gibson.........Friend

...................Clayton..........De Roon..................

Adomah...............Ramirez................Downing

..................................Negredo..................................

I didn't think Albert had quite enough to play in the Premiership. Same happened to him at Villa they released him when they were promoted.

Nsue I would have continued with.
