Akpom, Akpom, you’re my sex bomb.

Like this video. Looks like we finally might have a striker who can hold the ball up to bring in the midfield and somebody who can roll a defender to get past him with pace. Will win a lot of free kicks as well.

As with another video shown he needs a few bits ironing out but hopefully NW will sort that out. After all these years, to me he looks like the sort of powerful centre forward we are usually on the receiving end of.

I have a good feeling about Akpom, albeit mostly based on my gut. I think eventually a signing has to really pay off (even if just by probability).

It's hard to judge by youtube clips as it doesn't include bad pieces of play, but it definitely looks like we have a quick, skillful and direct player on our hands.

Yeah we fell for the high numbers, if you watch the goals videos back now you can see alot were purely down to awful goalkeeping.

Whilst I don't disagree with what you're saying about the standards of keeping, I do think Boro mishandled Alves.

He is the type of striker who thrived on killer through balls and clever around the corner passes and we bounced out the one player at that time we had in our squad capable of doing that in Rochemback. Consequently the lads supply line was effectively cut and if he wasn't scoring Alves offered little else to the team. With one or two different type of players around him I think he'd have done a lot better here but we'll never know.

Been looking online for reports on ‘Chubbs’.
Seems he was negatively thought by some for ‘letting the game pass him by’. But this is 4/5 years ago when he was out on-loan to Brighton, Forest and Hull. He is 24 now so hopefully sees this as time to really kick on with his career.
Sounds like we are paying for potential - please god let this one come off.
See Arsenal get a 40% cut of the rumoured £2.75m fee.

Agree with all that. Nothing wrong with Alves in the first half-season he was at the club, before we sold the entire midfield over the summer.

I was talking to someone that played with and against him as a young teen, said he was unbelievably good at that age. Light year above everyone else at that age.

I like the look of him, he's strong, but he's mobile too with decent feet. Look like he comes out of the 18 yard box a bit too much though, needs to be doing his work higher up the pitch. Probably explains why his goalscoring has been 1 in 3 not 1 in 2

I asked my son about him, he told me he signed him a few times on FIFA manager, that'll do me son, 👍

Hes never been a prolific scorer so with the service he will be getting from us with no wingers or proven number 10s I wouldn't be getting my Hope's up he will get past double figures. Until we sort the supply line out none of our strikers are going to be scoring regular.

Firstly the ch is pronounced as T

Secondly, I am sure the thread title will be used by someone in the future to have a dig at both the OP and Akpom. (Just saying)

My boy is currently getting 1 2 1 training with an Arsenal scout was speaking to him last night about him. He worked with him when he was there in the under 23’s said he has everything & is an amazing player but what let’s his game down is his mentality. He did say if he comes in & hits the ground running we will have some player on our hands.
As for a song was trying to think of something along the lines Cuba by the Gibson Brothers

Chuba 🎶 he scores goals for the bora
