some commenters with more details, on YT vids where captains of these planes are discussing the the only 2 remaining explanation, accident swithc movement or suicide
"There were two pilots Captain Sumeet Sabharwal and copilot Clive Kunder. Apparently Clive Kunder was in control of the flight. Sumeet Sabharwal was 60 years old, unmarried, about to retire and had lost his aged mother recently. Clive Kunder was a young pilot (20s), recently engaged and was going to be married in a couple of months. You figure out the rest"
"I agree, it was the Captain committing suicide. The captain gaslighted the CVR by accusing the FO. Great analysis Dan."
Indian culture, it's considered too awful to be known to be a mass suicider so all attempts are made to make it unsolvable or bring another under the main suspicion.
They are saying the Mayday call by the older captain was too pragmatic to rehearsed , not a real life emotion to it, sort of get it out, just for the record
As the captains are discussing, why ask "Why did you switch off. " you don't do that , you just correct the situation and discuss later . The young pilot was too focused with all take off duties to even reach over and do that .
