After Life Series 2

Anyone watched it? What are your thoughts?

Not quite as good as the first series IMO but still excellent. Very moving in parts, very funny in others. Paul Kaye in particular is brilliant as the 'therapist' 🤣 Say what you want about Ricky Gervais (I think he's great anyway) but he knows how to write a superb sitcom. 👍👍

I enjoyed series 2 just as much as series 1.

As Scubahood says, funny and poignant at the same time. Gervais is a genius at this.

I think Gervais is a genius, full stop. He's truly unique in a world of automatants and gets an unnecessary hard time from a lot of people. Does a hell of a lot for animal welfare too which can never be undervalued.

I met Ricky and his partner randomly in the street in Barcelona back in February, had a chat and a photo and he couldn't have been nicer, as a big fan of his it made my year!

Great to hear mate, I don't think a lot of people realise that him acting smug and superior and bragging about his millions is just that - an act to wind people up 🤦‍♂️

Loved series 1. Just didn’t like series 2, sorry. Couldn’t get into it at all.
No need to apologise! Each to their own mate 👍

I welled up at quite a few bits in series one but there was a moment in series two which actually made me full-on cry. I was feeling particularly low and emotional already so that may have also contributed...

I don't like Gervais at all. The fact I can say this is a superb programme is definitely no faint praise!
Absolutely, I think regardless of anyone's opinion of him, this latest creation of his would be very hard to dislike...

I love Joe Wilkinson too, think he's one of the most naturally funny comedians on TV (which admittedly isn't saying that much these days). I wish he'd do a filmed stand up show.

I think part of the problem was I watched it when it appeared during the initial lockdown, so I was not in a particularly good place. I didn’t like the Paul Kaye character and I really didn’t like the ending.

Did you enjoy The Cockfields Scoobs?

I liked it very much apart from the psychiatrist character. I know he was there to make a point but I just hated the portrayal. But overall I found it excellent.
