45 year old next week but still flick through the wrestling and watch the mouthing off etc .. but the latest installment (on friday on itv4) with newly crowned aew champion leaving the arena with a rival company's vice president makes things just that bit more interesting ... plus the return of one of my all time favourites (who kinda got screwed when he did eventually make it to the wwe)

Yes i know its not real and for kids ... but its no different to watching the soaps

I'd never believe a word that came out of Bishoff's mouth. He's a certified gob *****.

In the least patronising way possible... You enjoy what you enjoy mate, don't have to justify yourself!

I used to love the wrestling. My dad used to tape one that was shown late on a midweek night, so me and my brother could watch it the next day after school. Flyin Brian, Z-man, Arn Anderson, Rey Misterio, Vader, The Steiner brothers, Sid Vicious, Sting etc.

All a bit daft but those guys were heroes to kids. Loved it!

Sting is the guy who has just signed for aew ... whether he will actually wrestle again remains to be seen but he should put bums on seats once covid is relaxed in America. Be interesting What Jericho will make of not being the main big name/superstar of the promotion but i suspect Sting's in-ring appearances will be limited at 61

Wrestling will never reach the highs of the nWo days until it got silly when half the rosta was part of the faction

What happened? And I’m guessing the new champion is Kenny Omega? Doesn’t he part own AEW?

Used to love a bit of wrestling, would still watch any 90’s early 00’s repeats but not the current product.
Was anyone into ECW? I loved Sabu and RVD!

RVD was class! Used to like the ECW style. Wrestling is so much better with thumb tacks and a baseball bat covered in barb wire

AEW has turned into WCW pretty much - There is absolute no benefit to watch team up with IMPACT
Early days, could throw up some interesting match ups.

It's hilarious though when you look at those that left Impact to join AEW only to now find themselves tied in with them again. 😆

I thought that too, there's hardly any household names in IMPACT i caught an episode not long ago when EC3 came back (i think he's since gone to ROH)

I recognised maybe 3 or 4 wrestlers the champion Eric Young, Tommy Dreamer and Ryhno unlike the Dixie Carter days when you had AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe and stables like main event mafia and Fortune and more brits featuring such as Magnus

The thing is Impact has a far far better woman's division than AEW. AEW have a sizeable roster now ( almost on par with WWE now surely ) Bringing IMPACT in will not result in increased viewership for me. Also they have spent an absolute fortune on ex WWE wrestlers and haven't done anything with them Shawn spears, rusev ( debut was awful ). They should be focusing on there own talent.

AEW promoted themselves as real wrestling etc but at the moment its like a lighter version on WWE mixed with WCW.

It'll be on ITV4 this evening, Moxley/dean Ambrose has been the company's champion for some time, sounds like interference cost him the belt.

Its obviously Tony khan's money that is bankrolling AEW but i think youre right with regards to Omega being one of the execs. He must play a massive part in the bookings and 'story lines'

Although Jericho was the main eye catching signing ive enjoyed the progression of the likes of Darby Allin, hangman page, MJF and Orange Cassidy (who id never heard of any). But some other signings have rarely featured such as Lance Archer.

Then there's the ex WWE lot such as Matt Hardy, Luke Harper, jack swagger, Rusev who have hardly wrestled since moving over.

I think Sting will get more interest/a pop than someone like Angle or Hogan or Nash showing up

If they want more viewership in the UK then they need more than Kip Sabin, although PAC (Neville in WWE) was one of the original wrestlers unveiled at their lauch night but has been stuck in the UK for most of 2020

Pac is back now. I agree they need more uk wrestlers. I also don’t get mjf and wardlow. Hopefully some of Jericho’s magic will wear off on him

Wasnt used properly. Bill Goldberg can come back at any time and have the belt put around his waste in no time.

Wrestlemania ... was never going to beat HHH. The nWo/DX thing just made it even more of a farse. I suppose at least he got a wrestlemania moment and hopefully a cut of his merch sales (already flying out the door at aew)

I was surprised to see the passing away of luke harper/brodie lee mentioned on the bbc news this evening.

He'd not featured on the show for a while which was odd giving he was the leader of one of the main factions, but i didnt realise things were so bad for him health wise. Taken far too early at 41
