Seems like his successful appeal against murder has been reinstated. What a bizarre set of circumstances……again!

It seems incredibly hard to be exonerated in the US even when there is overwhelming evidence that your conviction is dubious.
Major doubts over the key witness, cellphone tower evidence proven to be wrong, police investigations into other viable suspects not handed over to the defence.
More than enough to at least mean a new trial is necessary.

Listened to Serial about this case and went from guilty to Not Guilty every week but there really isn't enough evidence to put him away for life. Plus there were so many obvious flaws in the Police Investigation.

I think from what I read that it's just an administrative error in that the victim (in this case that passes over to the victims family) should have had certain notification of the release of Syed, which didn't happen. So there will be a new hearing just to formalise things. I don't think they can send him back to prison
