admin fees for car insurance

Anyone know why there would be an admin fee of £105 to renew a car insurance with nothing in the policy changed? That amounts to 35% of the total cost. What are we actually paying for?

?????????

Admin fee probably covers the fixed yearly costs for marketing, website, administration costs etc.

It's probably not really charged for the first year, as some of the cheaper insurance companies probably waive most of it to secure business, in the hope you will stay on with them for the following years, sort of like a loss leader.

It's basically a charge on the lazy/ not that bothered about cost/ switching folk, and also combined with some running costs I expect.

Rip off Britain
Exactly this, the very ugly face of rampant capitalism.

I've just renewed mine, got two entirely different quotes on two comparison websites for the same insurers.

Then they tried to charge me an £80 administration fee for changing the reg. Complained and they reduced it to £3!

In The December my car developed a fault and needed to go into the garage for a few days. A loan car was provided and I had to pay £15 admin fee charged by their insurance company. Car was repaired. Fault developed again. Charged another £15. This happened 4 times. £15 each time. Car is back in the garage for the same fault. Rip off is an understatement.

Sounds like a broker fee to me. Try Comfort insurance for your Motorhome.
