Would you have him back seem like he is leaving the owls soon. Its on they forum the news.
Not sure he would suit our system. Warnock likes wide forwards in the wide areas and we already have Johnson as a diffferent type of wide player to what is normally Warnocks type and he’s in great form. Would prefer to just get 1 or 2 wide forwards who are the type Warnock likes
To be fair, if it was a free and reasonable wages we are just short of bodies on occasion, if he's still knocking them in from distance then he can't be much worse than a few of our other options there.
Let's not go down this route again, it never works to well getting ex players back...
Reach was sold and then we got promoted. He was sold as Karanka didn't see him making step up to premier league. I am not saying that the players we replaced him with worked but the reasons for selling him were valid.Reach had just had a brilliant season out on loan at PNE when we got shot of him. He's had a few good seasons at Sheff Wed. He's basically had 1 poor season and Sheff wed fans have hammered him.
The thing is 'yes' 5mil was a decent fee. Yet that money was sp*nked 3 times over on champo players not as good or worse (also probably on higher wages).
I imagine he's gonna have plenty of suiters in the champo. Then again so will Britt. It looks like a few decent players are gonna be available for nothing in the summer as clubs can't afford to match or better current contracts.
Warnock said that he's got his eye on 2-3 and wondering whether to bid now or go for them when free (probably more clubs in for them).
I agree, every player is a different case, whether or not other players have been successful returning in the past is irrelevant. Is that true though? Gets said a lot but not sure it really is, just a perception people have. Juninho helped us win a cup. Pallister and Cooper helped establish us in the Premier League. Downing might have been underwhelming, but we still got promoted.
A good player is a good player, regardless of whether he played for us previously or not. I think that's the crux of the matter. We shouldn't sign players just because they used to play for us, completely agree with that. But we shouldn't turn our noses up at players for that reason either. It should be irrelevant.
As for Reach, I quite liked him when he was here but often thought he flattered to deceive at times too. Decent player at this level, but think he'd probably frustrate a lot of fans. I'd back Warnock to get the best out of him though.
