Adam Clayton released by Birmingham

What's wrong with Connor Malley at the moment, injured I assume? He should be our next choice central midfielder imho

They way we are with injuries would he come back till January? Not much risk to MFC, say £10k a week for 12 weeks?
He's not good enough for Birmingham but people think he's good enough for us?

We've better players in our U23's team but the manager won't play them.

Yea I dont understand that, he came on as sub & was given MOTM by sky v Rotherham, probably played a few games since, yet we keep faith with Silki who, for me, hasnt shown anything to warant selection

He wouldn't be allowed to sign for anybody until January.

Personally I think he was finished 2 years ago.

we disnt really get to see much of butterfield wasnt he involved in the transfer?

EDIT 31 apps 3 goals according to wiki

We carry Howson when he plays midfield don't want another passenger.
Wrong way around Howson carries the team at times. He works away in almost every position he is called to fill.

As to Adam Clayton - got to salute a player that gave his all for Boro and was always one to come around and congratulate the fans home and away. He was brave to step forward and talk about his mental health challenges and even reach out to others to help them by sharing experiences etc. So I wish him a healthy and successful next part of his journey.

Agreed - just not with us.

Remember when he was allowed to take a penalty once in the LC? That went well.
Can't remember it, but it can't have been any worse than a recent player's two-footer and a welly over the bar from our recently departed "super striker" ?

Well he joined scoring 11 in 85 for Huddersfield. 1 in 214 for us..... Something happened😕. I mean his one goal is debatable as massively deflected.

He definitely joined with a reputation for having a decent long range strike on him.
The tiny irony was his only Boro goal came away at Huddersfield!

Spence was not good enough for us, but done well @ Forest.

Before someon says Warnock - Jukey has done quite @ Brum and he was written off in 2014 by us.

I am only talking a monthly short term contract.

Clayton cannot sign for any team until January.

I really liked Clayton as a player for us, but he is finished as a player - however short term imho.
As a coach, I have absolutely no idea whether he would be talented or not.
Being a former player who cared is an extremely small part of a reason to employ - almost incidental.
There is a huge difference between coming back as a coach or a Hospitality host where it is still all about the player and his connection with the club.

When the club lost 2 nil at Charlton after the karanka explosion 2 people from the came over to speak to the supporters who were spitting feathers. Leo and Clayton.

Where is Howson carrying the team. He has done well at R/B but woeful in midfield. Had a great game the one he scored in but remeber the likes of QPR when they over ran us in midfield. Maybe you want to check our results as if that is carrying us there is something wrong. Would like to see how many games this season we have won when he started M/F. Might check it when I get some time.

Obviously not good enough for the first team and there's a reason we cut our losses during the pandemic, but he could do a job as a player-coach in our development squad.

Only fair we try and do right by former players who can offer something to the wider club, in my opinion.
We need to be looking at the best available for what we can afford. If he fits the criteria then fine.
