Absolutely sick of this group of players

We need to move on from howson for sure. This should be his last year with us. We need another influx innthe next 2 windows again. Its a never ending cycle of replacing loan players and those not good enough. Bola and giles will go i bet so need two left backs. A keeper ...again as steffen is rubbish for me. Mcnair seems stale, fry too. Jones has been found out. Muniz wont be staying. We need permanent signings. Loannplayers give less when the goingbgets tough knowing they got a patent club to run back to.

Wilder was right in saying far too many been around ages and achieved nothing other than championship mediocrity.

Fry, McNair, Howson for starters. Bottle merchants who will always let us down when it matters.

The best we can hope for is midtable but even that is a pipe dream this season.
This kind of mess and Gibson brings in a laid back novice and failed sidekick in woodgate.
If you made it up you’d just laugh it off as a kind of incompetence that’s not possible….

We really are going down

Most teams at our level will have a squad largely similar to ours. People who bulk out the squad and will regularly get 5/10 on player ratings.

The difference is how many 7/10 players you pick up. Just one of those in goal, defence, midfield and attack will virtually guarantee playoff football. Get two or three of those in midfield and you have serious ambition for automatic spots.

We had those positions under Karanka. Dimi, Ayala, Leadbitter and Ramirez. That spine carried us without a truly prolific scorer.
It's a real concern, and has been to me for ages. The spine, and having players with leadership and fight is huge in this division. I was amazed when Warnock didn't sign an Ayala type at centre back, then Wilder didn't do it either. We still haven't replaced Ayala's dominance in both boxes and his nasty streak.

We'd have been better re-signing him than Lenihan who, although at least a supposed leader and organiser, is weak as **** for a centre half. I never saw Ayala get bullied in six years, he was hard as nails and as strong as anyone.

And look at the other big characters who've not been replaced - George Friend wasn't the best player in the world, but he was a leader with a massive heart and some bite in the tackle. Leadbitter obviously. Clayton - pedestrian and lacking quality, but played with heart, was a leader and a master of the 'professional foul'. Dimi a leader in goal. Karankas team was full of character and bite. If you have ambitions to get out of this division these are essential ingredients.

Tavernier was our only player left who played with real tenacity week in week out.

If you want someone to blame look at the owner. Can’t blame the players when the squad was stripped back every season and players replaced on the cheap.

A few of these players have now played under 6 managers in 5 years, I really don’t think they are the ones to blame
Precisely - the biggest problem this club has is the owner, who in football terms couldn’t organise a decent píss up at the Guiness store house Dublin

Bloody hell. It's the same squad that missed the playoffs last season plus Giles and others.
We're misfiring yes. Give the new man a chance.
It’s not the same squad. We sold our next player on the cheap and replaced with dross.

That's nonsense. Tav was a good player, but in no way obviously our best player. This forum was full of people questioning his selection.
This side is largely the same.

If Tav wasn’t our best player then who is better than him, that we have here now

Howson is a huge part of the problem and reason why we've been so soft away from home for some time now. He's not a defensive midfielder and isn't a leader. Fantastic professional and role model but no leader.

Compare our midfield now to the midfield we had under Karanka. We had a proper leader in Leadbitter who could play box-to-box, and Clayton who played that defensive midfield role to perfection.

Remember us going to Brighton, controlling the game and winning 0-3. You just couldn't imagine us putting in that kind of performance away from home now.

Hopefully Carrick can start to move the spineless tvvats out .... another poor seasons recruitment i am afraid. We miss Tavs energy so much .... mc Gree is a poor substitute

No quality. No winning mentality. Squad full of gormless, unintelligent players with no backbone. Zero urgency. Sloppy decision making. Just sleepwalking through game going through the motions. Dozy as ****.

Honestly wouldn’t be sad to see the back of any of them. Another long journey home sick as ****.

Carrick has some job on his hands with these losers.
Don’t worry though….the recruitment team that assembled this squad of mediocrity and loans have been given licence to fix their own problems! Burning through managers to blame.

Brilliant post and sums up exactly why we are where we are today and add a complete novice manager and clueless 1st team coach and you have a league one team
Fcuking furious with Gibson

Slagging off Gibson’s died down, bit early to slate Carrick, let’s slate the players. Running out of targets
Carrick has absolutely no blame in this, I feel sorry for him.

Firstly because of Woodgate being bundled on him (there is not a chance in the world that Carrick has approached MFC and said ‘part of my conditions are that I want Jonathan Woodgate as first team coach’).

Secondly, I feel for him because of the group of players he’s somehow going to have to try and keep in this division. Players that have no quality, no bottle, no fight, are physically and mentally weak and crumble under pressure.

This ‘clown’ is a web bot.
Thanks
I’ve noticed that you’ve used that term in a couple of posts. Not really sure what a web bot is if you can elaborate?

It would also be good if, from your side, you could bring a counter argument to my comments to the table. A reason or some points on why we should have faith in these players.. rather than just daft remarks like ‘web bot, thanks.’

Here are some more thoughts on why this group of players are weak, have a soft mentality and are **** easy to play against, scaring or troubling nobody.

Cardiff had scored 4 away from home all season. Put 3 past us in 30 mins at the Riverside.

Preston scored 2 home goals in 8 games before yesterday. Scored 2 in 1 against us.

Blackburn lost 5 away in a row before coming here. Won at ours.

Huddersfield’s only clean sheet? Do I need to say.

Only team in the league with no away clean sheet? You guessed it.

It's pretty obvious Tav was our best player

He was the only true box to box midfielder we had who could run up and down pretty much non stop for 90 minutes

Can't see other teams paying 12 million for anybody else in our squad?

Seriously missed, and was replaced by Alex Slowatt, a player so immobile it defies belief

He was our best player by far and is now a regular starter in the PL. Who would you say is better?

He was a key element in Wilder's system. Not saying that to defend Wilder but Tav really was crucial to the way we played under Wilder.
