A Woman playing in a mens team....

There was but I’m not sure now. Surprised rapinoe hasn’t tried to fight for it along with her equal pay battle.

Yes I thought so as I suspected mixed sides are allowed to youth level then the fa rule kicks in

In England, the FA has recently voted to extend the age at which "mixed gender football" is permitted, from 16 to 18 years FA to raise girls' football age limit.

I’ve Never understood why there are no female managers though in the pyramid as it’s about knowledge not physique
I think that you can see it becoming more apparent in backroom teams, so most top flight male professionals will be used to working with women already.

Doctors, physios, fitness staff (like Boro have) and we're in an era where the best male managers weren't necessarily high achieving players, so female managers won't be far off.

I remember Perugia a few years ago, although dont think it actually happened.

Yes they talked about it but that was in the crazy days of Luciano Gauci when he’d do or say anything for publicity he is the one that signed gadaffis son Saadi from juve ( he was only their as a token for tan oil).

Look at the Chelsea manager she’s son it all in the womens game so what’s really left.

So why wouldn’t say a progressive club say like a forest green take a chance on her

She got very offended when she was linked with the AFC Wimbledon job, as I recall, seeing it as beneath her.

I agree that there's absolutely no reason beyond sexism that a woman can't manage in the men's game, but I don't think there's any chance of their first job being at a very high level.

Maybe it was the media misrepresenting her view, which is quite possible, but if a League One job and being a trendsetter is seen as an insult, I think it's a long way off yet.

Because she'd laugh and tell them not to be so silly.

can you imagine the misogyny if they went through a bad spell though
That’s very true but if you remember before wenger they big phrase in the English game to shout down us mere mortals was caps on the table. How can you comment when you’ve never played at such and such a level where’s your caps etc

Which is why hopeless ex players were given top jobs as they had the caps etc. look at klopp if he was English he’d still be managing in the lower leagues.

No one says that now as houllier was a school teacher and clement a PE teacher etc

Things can change.

There's no way any female footballer will ever push being able to play professionally in the men's game, as we all know exactly what would happen.

In terms of managers however, I could very easily see the likes of Emma Hayes or Sarina Weigman managing in the upper echelons of English football in future. What doesn't help their cause however is the likes of the Arsenal manager being a male who nobody has ever heard of.

I saw a documentary about the female manageress back in 1989 / 1990, and although she got the job through her late father who was a UEFA member she did have to contend with a lot, especially the wheeler dealer chairman.

She was on the radio before saying she's won everything and happy to stay where she is, rather than struggling at the bottom end of the 'male' football league. She believes her own hype that she should jump straight into a top job.

Because she thinks she's better than that - last year Wimbledon (I think) were rumoured to be looking at her, and she basically said she wasn't interested at that level

Im using wenger as I’m highlighting how English outdated attitudes have changed drastically in the last 10 years or so. Arsene who were the headlines who did he play for etc Where’s his caps.

This isn’t the case now

That’s the point.
