A very dangerous day

The Russian commander of at the Enerhodar nuclear power plant has gone all "heart of darkness" having been sacked. He and his troops have mined the plant. The Russians have activated the Nuclear anti-terrorism charter and will, if negotiations to get the commander out and de-mine the place fail, invite the French specialist PNAT unit to storm the place, with Russian special forces backing (a UN Mission).
This at a point where Putin has requested direct peace talks with Zelensky .... hoping to end the war without losing Crimea.

So, if you do praying or any of that stuff, now is a good time. Otherwise, hope to **** that this doesn't end with a big boom.

The most dangerous day of the war so far.

The dictator's army is still inching forward in Donetsk - so will it be willing to relinquish Donbass without the land corridor to Crimea?

The Russians don't want to be radioactive any more than the rest of us. Hopefully they send someone in to get the crazy ****** unconscious on cheap vodka.
My source is someone who has just been put on 1hr deployment alert. He has been right about most stuff so far.

Which Tom Clancey book is that from?

Jesus, looks like things have gone up a notch. This could end up as something which finally makes Putin see sense, but I doubt it.

Seems like things are crumbling below Putin's feet, hopefully, it all falls apart without an additional disaster.

Oh i dunno, there’s still more money to be made yet!

Better news. The Ukrainians have supplied fuel for the cooling systems, which the Russians could not do as the Ukrainians have blown up the bridges on their supply routes. Word is that the rogue commander has been detained. There are good things to take from this. The Russians quietly invoking the Nuclear Anti-terrorism charter suggests that there is some sanity there. Hopefully the plant is now made safe.

Just looking at the prevailing winds for the area, if it did go up the winds blow over the Black Sea over to Turkey, Syria and then Iraq. Georgia and Armenia would get a good sniff too. So all in all quite an own goal really.

That's the short term. The Russians didn't want a long term radiation cloud any more than anyone else.
And Putin has still asked, via the UN for direct chat with Zelensky .... I don't think Zelensky will give what he wants though.
