Just started reading the first one, god the author is a wordy b***r. Glad to not have to trawl through that to be honest. For example "But do we have to plumb the depths of a Jungian collective subconscious to make sense of Trump as a public phenomenon? "

Well to answer that question, I don't know, what do you mean by Jungian collective subconscious?

I did A level history too. It was British political history 1905-39 and European History 1870-1945. It’s amazing how much more we know/opinions have changed since then. Or maybe I was just too young and lazy.
 
Sounds like a similar syllabus - Bismark up to the end of WW2.
I had a great history teacher and was pretty engaged in the subject - at the time.
