"I'm sorry I left me cards at home
Well you're late as well, that's three times on the run
If you're late again the supervisor said
We're gonna put you on daily signing"

Is this from something off the telly? Clearly something to do with the dole office...but what? Been wondering for 38 years 🤣

I always thought it was something the band added.

The albums got a few spoken bits hasn’t it.
Prince Charles wittering on about involuntary pelvic contractions for a start. Then there’s the spoken bit at the start of the ballad of 32 just before the woman has an orgasm….

I always presumed it was a fairly common threat to make an errant claimant attend daily. IIRC he replies "Ha!" and the song kicks off.

I was 14 when this album came out

Must have took me until I was 25 to work out she was saying “put you on daily signing”

Blooming scouse accents.

Not my favourite album ever but they were great in the day so thank you for posting this @Lemmy_kilmister cos I’ve just played a few tracks off it making my tea. 👍👍

Welcome to the Pleasuredome is a really great album. There was never any point in them releasing a greatest hits album, as all their best songs were on there. I also like a lot of the 2 Tribes remixes - there are loads of good ones, some of them go on for about 20 minutes!
