Hardly a comeback when it’s an Opening Post is it? My views on what Cummins has done are on the other thread - in that I agree he should go. It doesn’t stop me from seeing the irony in a herd of press being camped outside his house for a couple of days flouting social distancing rules and probably causing as much risk/ damage as the crime they are reporting on. The two views are both valid as they relate to different points.

The day I take common sense advice from a politician who not only goes out of his way to knowingly shake hands with a hospital full of COVID patients and then brag about on mainstream news will be the day Hell freezes over. Or I vote Tory. Frozen Hell will happen first.

The should not have crowded like that and were reported to the police who warned them about their conduct.
However if you're comparing then a few seconds of that is not in the same league as shaking hands with C19 patients or driving in a car with a 4 year old for 5 hours while showing symtoms of C19.

Do you find it ironic that the Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister disobeyed at least 3 of his own rules while pretty much the rest of the country was obeying them? And then instructed the Prime Minister and his Cabinet to defend him on prime time TV?
You needn't answer that if you find it too difficult.
The next question for you will be how do you categorise the large number of right wing MPs that are calling for Cummings to go? Lefty? Brexiteers? I realise that you've already tried that but in true Johnson fashion, maybe if you repeat it about 200 times it might come true.

The behaviour of the press in disobeying social distancing is wrong and of course they should not be doing it, it’s a distraction that isn’t necessary and shows a degree of hypocrisy, being a key worker at work does not give you a right to disregard guidelines, I hope they’ve been spoken to by their bosses and the scenes aren’t repeated, however this does not change anything in regard to Cummings actions and how very wrong they were.

totally agree they are two different points hence why I started a different thread for this one. As my old Mam always says “two wrongs don’t make a right”, however it just shows how dangerous Cummins actions are as the general poplace will now just feel they can break the lockdown/social distancing rules and their defence will be - if it’s ok for the gvt it’s ok for me!!
