A few random thoughts from me on last night!

- Firstly the atmosphere, spot on. Every fan turned up last night. My young lad couldnt believe it, he's not on an ST yet and he hasnt experienced the Riverside like that before, it blew him away.

- Fitness - wow. The squad, and specifically the 13/14 players used over the last couple of games have been put through it, both physically and mentally, and they kept it going. Special mention for Engel, he never looks tired. I wonder who the fittest player is, I would imagine Engel is right up there.

- Strangely I actually thought we defended better against Villa, and were more in control in that game to an extent. However we looked so much more dangerous against chelsea, so I think the balance was just about right. Yes we rode our luck, but who cares.

- Glover - get some sawdust on those gloves lad! haha

- HUGGGGGE BONUS, O'Brien back on the bench! .... God knows where he fits into the team at the moment, but what a nice problem to have.

- Lastly, bit of a nod to Clarke. He is proving to be a real asset, and almost out of the blue! He may have got caught out once or twice last night, but that is to be expected against 'technically better' players. But overall what a bonus it is having him back to full fitness. No nonsense, and pretty calm on the ball. Great balance when he plays.

Loads more that could be said - but this is just part of my brain dump of thousands of thoughts from last night!

Overall what a night.

Last night was more chaos that Villa. Both us and Chelsea rely on a bit of chaos to make chances. Villa are more structured. Defending last night was harder I think because of the unpredictable nature of their players. But we stood up to it.

What I think is both Villa and Chelsea couldn't like with our chaotic attacks. If we can find a fit striker to finish things, we will be flying.

I think if Lath had managed to stay on we would have had 2 or 3 more chances, as a couple of times Coburn broke their line, but simply doesnt have the pace to get away unfortunately.

Having said that, some of Coburns hold up play last night was like he was a 30 year old seasoned pro, exceptional at times.
