A decent Tory?

I don’t think it should have anything to do with what party you support. It’s about honesty and decency, Johnson and his apologists have none.

Plenty of people from the Conservative party don’t support him. There may be many in the parliamentary party that can look the other way from the truth for personal political reasons.

That's why I put a question mark. But, I have to say that one of the nicest Councillors that I had dealings with on Cleveland Fire Authority was Hazel Pearson, a Tory representing Acklam. Mind you she was the only decent one of the Tories.
tories and their followers have no morals!!!That

I do have sympathy for Tory MPs who fight tooth and nail for the constituents and are dismayed at not just the PMs behaviour, but also how ministers have conducted themselves too. The current makeup of the Conservative Party is merely now the English Nationalist Party that are hellbent on torching institutions, tradition and democracy. I also sympathise for members of the electorate who identify themselves as conservative who now feel politically homeless, but yet cannot bring themselves to vote for alternative parties.

The Conservative Party died a long time ago. Even during the Thatcher years, old school conservatives such as Harold Macmillan opposed privatisation and the neglect of the poorest in society. The best thing that could ever happen to that party is tear itself apart, but that has been said for years now, even going back to the early years of John Major. Ruth Davidson along with the likes of Rory Stewart, Dominic Grieve, Phillip Hammond, etc are true blue conservatives who are open mouthed with what is happening to our country. I do not subscribe to much of centre right politics, but pluralism is fundamental in politics and societal progression.

Having said all that, I am detecting a shift both in terms of Boris bootlickers from Joe Bloggs and the desperation from the government and media to shout BREXIT, vaccine rollout and growing economy, hoping that it will stick. More people are beginning to realise that the emperor, in actual fact, does not have any clothes on.

I do like Rory Stewart, he was highly critical of Boris Johnson in their leadership battle and when asked if he lost but was invited into the cabinet by Boris, would he accept. His answer was no, I will leave the party, which he did. A man with integrity.

No such thing as a good Tory. Anyone who has supported or voted to inflict misery and poverty on the most vulnerable in society is a scumbag in my eyes and they should be made to wear their voting record and the results of such votes every time they speak on tv.

That's why I put a question mark at the end.

But you then said 'A Tory with integrity and seeming decency'. To which I answered.
Ok, I'll say this again, temporary aberration over. First time in my life I've felt even slightly sorry for a Tory. Look where that's got me, won't be doing that ever again. Jeez, what was I thinking?

A decent tory- is there such a thing?
Of course there is mate. Life is full of different people with differing opinions. I can't stand the Tories but there are no doubt good people out there.

I thought I could never support people like Cameron, Osborne, May etc but look at those compared to the lunatics running the asylum at the minute.

An uncle of mine was a Miner in S Yorks and he was saying that these chunts run Thatcher closest he's ever seen for the most evil
