A day at the races

Me and my mate have been to Great Yarmouth Races today.

Six races. Not one win between us. One place (at the utterly pathetic odds of 5-2)

Nearly picking a 50-1 winner because of the name but backing a 25-1 shot instead with rainbow in the name (well it’s gay pride month innit)

Two photo finishes. Backing the horse that finished second in both of them to win.

Sticking a few quid on a horse called grumpy mcgrumpface running at Perth for ***** and giggles.

Then lumping £20 on the odds on favourite in the last race in an attempt to recoup your losses. Which then promptly finished nowhere.

Hog roast, a pint of beer and McDonald’s on the way back.

And the A47 is one road to hell.

Lost £60 but so what. Best day out I’ve had for ages. Loved every minute.

I don’t go very often but always enjoy a day at the races when I do go.. although it seems I’m about as good a bet picker as you!

I only ever take cash I can afford to lose and think it’s a result if I bring anything at all home!
