60s and 70s kids programmes......

Yao, of which I can't find any English dubbed evidence, turned me onto African music and French language at a very early age.

Just talking about Follyfoot the other day with Ms. Wurzel - triggered off when out walking and seeing a tree that had been struck by lightening. Isn't Follyfoot near York towards Beverley?

I knew "Double Deckers" would be one of the first - it always stuck in my mind for ever even though I didn't like it at the time, too much dancing and singing for a young boy, but it looks like it was shot in different film for the US market and the child characters seem larger than life some how that kept my attention. Peter Firth became quite famous as an adult.

Flashing Blade was a favourite when I was a young boy - lots of fighting and solders to keep a young boy happy, but also watched all Thunderbird/Capt Scarlet/Joe 90/Stingray stuff from the Andersons, Banana Splits (with Arabian Knights), Wacky Races, Scooby Doo. I could not keep still when I was young, so when Skippy theme tune came on I was running round the house and bouncing on the furniture pretending to be Skippy. My parents said "Watch with Mother" saved them when I was about 3 or 4 because it was the only thing I would settle down for and shut up for. Pogles Wood was probably my favourite loved the mystery of little creatures living in the Woods.

When you hear the original theme to the Flashing Blade, you realise what an absolute banger if a tune the English version is.
