As is the nature of all loan signings they come and they go but unusually for us 4 of the loanees were crucial first team players

And you could argue even Mowatt was key towards the end with howson missing.

So that’s 4 key members of our first team picture that now need replacing, so it’s going to be a busy summer for carrick and his team but it’s also an exciting time to re shape his side into what he wants.

Mowatt was just a squad player but crucial to get a better replacement in the CDM role.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see two of them back in a Boro shirt next year and two placed

It looks like we are going down that route, with stories that we’ve already approached villa about archer and I can see us going after giles on a permanent basis.

That's the championship. Most other sides are in a similar position to a greater or lesser degree.

The promising side to it is Ramsey and Archer only joined in January and results and performances were good before they joined so we know we can cope without.

It's just the norm now isn't it, losing loan players then having to either sign them or replace them. Nothing unusual in having to replace a handful of first teamers.
