3rd Test India v England

England’s all time highest run scorer has just said he wouldn’t know how to play Ashwin with that ball on that pitch.
Cookie had a great defence as well.
Says it all really

Against Axar I would have tried to get to the pitch, which I was banging on about, just to get him off his line that he bowled near perfectly and to take LBW out of the equation. Make him do something different.

Ashwin is far more skilled, pretty much unplayable on that pitch.

The pitch just took it away from everyone to bat properly on it, Indians included. Leech looked amazing..... he's average, and Root has never had a five for..... says it all.

What you doing next week you might get a game before Bairstow going by some on here

The Indian 1st innings tells you had bad the pitch was and the fact they then slogged their way to 49 shows that they didn't want to hang around in that second innings.

Bad day for cricket....opportunity to showcase it on terrestrial tv and they serve up that so called Test. Yes, India are better than England, but they could have proved that on a proper pitch couldn't they?

Look on the bright side - plenty of unexpected chances to watch Come Dine with Me repeats on Channel 4.

See, I don’t care about lost revenue to sponsors, tv companies, advertisers and the like. I care about my lost enjoyment watching another few days of something different
Three days of Frasier repeats. Whats not to like?

I said at the start of this thread I hate the day/night format. It should play no part in test cricket. Im not excusing the India Board for preparing a pitch klke that but Im a ourist when it comes to the 5...... er 2 day game.

Watched it last night over here and went to bed when Crawley went first ball. Wasnt in the least bit surprised to see that result given the way that pitch was behaving.

England need players who have technique against the spin attack. One of the best in recent years was a young player against India in the last tour. Haseeb Hameed and then disappeared again. What happened to him? He averaged over 40 in that series.

when the ball is going all over the place I don't understand why batsman aren't more aggressive and treat it like a 20 over game, they would surely get more runs than they did today when most were out trying to play defensive shots. Indians attacked in 2nd innings and didn't lose a wicket

Got released by Lancashire in 2019
Recently signed for Notts but obviously hasn’t played any cricket of late

Yes he injured his hand in that last test and he never got back in the team. Hes only 24 but lost his form at Lancie and moved to Notts.

Shortest completed test match since the war

Still, India got want they so desperately needed , a place in the World Test Championship Final.

A 5 day test match finished in 2 days - a 2nd day pitch playing like its a 4th day track - England may well have lost but cricket is the biggest loser
Feel a bit for Channel 4 brought it back to terrestrial TV and now Test is all over inside of two days. Doing a fairly decent job of it as well.

England win the last Test and Australia Qualify for the Test Grand Final not India.

Heres hoping. I say that as normally dislike the Aussies but the arrogance of Kohli et al have got up my nose a bit.
