3rd Test India v England

Ah. OK thanks I got that very wrong.
IMO India will batter NZ. If Lords produces a 5 day track, and I expect they'll try to, Indias batsmen will make the big difference.
We did ok against them last year, in similar conditions to the UK, so may be closer than you think. We do have the odd decent batter and bowler

They won’t batter NZ although will start favourites obviously. The NZ test team have a very good pace attack these days and if the wicket is prepared well - NZ may well surprise

It should be interesting if it is India/New Zealand as India have terrible record over here lately and New Zealand have got to the top of the world rankings despite losing a series 3 0 in Australia.

Personally I'd love NZ to win it as they deserve a world title after the one day final a couple of years ago.

Personally i think new zealand would be favourites over india at lords. The indian batsmen have been terrible over here the last couple of times. All struggled to cope with anything that moved off the straight and played across the line far too much. You can get away with good hand /eye coordination in the sub continent but need good footwork and a straighter bat in england. New zealand have a good mix of bowling for english conditions too.

Jesus wept. :(
Funny how you didn't comeback on here after the 1st innings when Bairstow looked like Englands best batsman before being unluckily given out to an umpires call LBW to a ball which was just shaving the top of the bails.
You can easily criticise everyone of Englands batsmen at some point in this series but to single out Bairstow in my opinion is just not fair, given that he was sent home after a successful trip to Sri Lanka and then brought back for last 2 tests. Not the best preparation for test cricket and one the selectors will probably admit they got badly wrong, again only my opinion of course.

They didn't "send him home " it was a mutual agreement as he wanted a rest before the IPL.
One bowler light in such testing conditions cost us when we had them on the ropes.
We have decent batsmen.....for English conditions, too reliant on 2-3 players to perform.
A few pluses, root looks better than he has done for the last few years, leach is reliable and foakes should be first choice wicket keeper.

Think Lawrence is also a plus.
Pope looked all at sea against good quality spin.
Though Crawley would do a lot better but would like to see him at number 3 for the long term.
No idea how you get Foakes into the team with Buttler to comeback in unless Buttler plays as a batsman only.
Big problems with the openers. Still think Sibley deserves his chance to open for now but we need to find a new one or Burns really needs to step up instead of the same old dismissal all the time.
Really don’t think Archers heart is in test cricket and can see him only playing one day and 20/20 long term.
Bess will now be sent back to county cricket because imo he’s not good enough for test cricket.

The pink ball had a lot to do with it and that is only in use in day night tests, the pitch didn’t help either mind.
Just seen this discussion on D/N tests. If they are going to insist on having them, I think they’re kak by the way, then all the stats should be in their own category for D/N tests, they should not be included in standard test match stats. D/N is a totally different game to normal test match.

He averaged 7 batting at 3.
Shouldn't be anywhere near the Test Squad again. Full Stop.
