After making over 400 appearences for the mighty Boro, scoring 28 goals & acheiving his childhood dream of, not only playing for the club he supported but, becoming a legend, a captain & manager, Mogga returned on this day for a well deserved testimonial with his new team, Celtic

On the 8th September 1982, Bobby Murdoch gave both, Paul Ward & Mogga, their debuts in an away derby clash with Newcastle United, his final Boro game was a 2-1 defeat at Barnsley on bonfire night 1991

Bobby had given Mogga one job & a hard one at that, to man mark Newcastles Kevin Keegan, he must have done a good job as he kept Keegan & Newcastlle quiet with the Boro coming away with our 1st point of the season, when Darren Wood scored our equaliser after Mick Channon had scored his 1st of 2 Newcastle goals

was in the terrace seats in the warwick road entrance with my late dad ... just knew there was going to be hell on ... didnt enjoy it one bit

A Celtic fan ran on the pitch and came and sat near us just to the left of the dugouts. Stewards missed him. No bother at all just ***ed. Was one of the very few games my late mother attended with us.

The picture of him on the front of the gazette the next day, on front of the Holgate holding a boro scarf, after the match....that was my scarf !!
If he reads this he might get in touch and ask you if you will sign it for him;)
